Clear Bra
I just spoke to a very well known clear bra installer here in NY about getting my Z done. He is a mobile installer, meaning he comes to my house and does everything over here! Anyways, he wants $850 for the front bumper, front part of hood, mirrors, and fenders. Is this a good price?
I had mine installed at the dealer and it was like $550. Ive had my car a little less than a year and I can find a couple of screw ups. Little slices. I have 2 small slices in the front bumper. They we not so apparent in the beginning. Dont think it is from debry so make sure they do a good job.
850 is too much....i dont know if you care about my advice but you dont need to do the fenders
i dont have any rock chips on there....and they are the most important part of the Z as far as shine goes...you dont wanna cover it up with tape
front bumper is the best thing to do...hood is a good idea but definately not necessary...same thing for the mirrors
i paid 350 for my front bumper...

I paid exactly $850 which includes headlight kit, hood, bumper, fenders, and mirrors. I think the price is based solely on competition in your market. There was only one person here installing the stuff so my options were limited. I would still pay $850 again. Although you can buy a brand new bumper unpainted for $219.
I installed my 3M clear bra this past weekend 06.20.04. My hat is off to Jeremy and all the other professional installers of PPF." This stuff was a little b#%ch to install! It came out pretty good and I am fairly proud of myself for giving it a shot as first timer.
I paid $210 for the full kit, hood, fenders, full bumber and mirrors from a company in texas. They gave me the latest 3M material at my request even though they suggested using Llumar as a first timer. I will post pics of my results soon.
To anyone wanting to try and do this on their own, if your crazy enough, ha,ha,ha. No, seriously though...go to ebay and find the computer cut kits from $190-$220. The guy I bought it from gets them from X-pel. I will tell you that the pre cut sheets were nicely trimed and extremely accruate when applied to the car sections. When I installed the kit it went all the way to the edges, 1/16-1/8". I had my friend help me with the big sections because it's almost impossible to do it by yourself. Unless you have four hands or if you've been doing it for a while. I went to this site to get a better understanding of how to apply this stuff.

It was extremely useful and helped guide me through this little adventure. I will admit that the results may not be as perfect as a professional installer, but I don't have any visable bubbles and the kit went on nice and straight. You really can't see it and the gloss on the 3M kit pretty much matches the clear coat. I'm very happy with the overall results of the kit and would recommend it too all Z owners. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, pay the extra $300-$500 dollars and have a pro install it, seriously.

I paid about $600 back in August when I bought my Z. The kit included the front bumper, fenders, hood [about 1/3 of the way up], mirrors and headlights. Thought the installer did a good job-- it's been almost a year and no peeling, movement or any other problems. I have been doing a fair amount of freeway driving lately and noticed a number of "hits" on the bumper that would likely be a paint chip but for the clear bra. On balance, I think it was a pretty good investment.
