Default Question for those who have Fairlady Z emblem

I was just wondering for those who got this emblem... where did you get it from and what type of finish is on it? I've seen pictures that people have posted where it looks really shiny, almost like chrome.
I got mine from courtesy nissan, and the finish is like a silver coloured paint. It doesn't seem to be as shiny as in most people's pictures. Also the template that mine came in was a black foam template, not blue like everyone mentions... I know this may sound stupid, but did I somehow get a knock-off? Or did anyone else receive their's with a black template instead of the blue.

Its the same finish as the door handles(I think). Don't think it's that shiny.

It is the exact same material as the stock "350Z" emblems. Compare one of the stock badge numbers to the JDM badge.

Yeah, I compared the two "Z"s and it looks identical... I guess I was just mislead by some of the photos online here where it looked very shiny/reflective... and that mine came w/ a black template. Did both of your's come in the blue foam as well? Thanks for the replies.

Hmm... no mine didn't. I just found the black template inside a plastic wrap when I opened the package (which was also opened by customs).

Courtesy sells knockoffs, you can tell by the packaging and the blue piece that holds the emblem. It is different in color and texture from the original. However the emblem is near identical. Buy a original JDM one if it bothers you.
Check www.shopresponse.com for the original.

Thanks for that info... I'll most likely pick up another original set from somewhere else. The thing that was bugging is that i looked it over and didn't notice any problems, but after i installed it and peeled off that clear film, i noticed the side of the "y" had some paint missing too. Can't do anything about it since i didn't notice it till after i installed it.

I'm a little confused. A friend of mine was doing some work with Nissan in Japan and brought me back a Fairlady Z emblem from Nissan. As you can see from the picture below, it is packaged in a blue piece of "foam" which I imagine is the same way Courtesy's is packaged. I also included the "3" from the "350Z" that was on the back of the car to show it matches.

I am also a little confused by your post. I ordered from Courtesy and recieved my badge in OEM JDM badging, with part #s and the blue foam guide for install.

What are you talking about? How is this knockoff?

See the picture Anyone2u posted is of the actual OEM emblem. Came in nissan box or the plastic wrap with the nissan part numbers on it, and has the blue foam piece to align the emblem.

The one i got from courtesy came on a black foam piece, which was kind of warped, so the letters weren't held in their places tightly, i had to line up all the letters inside the foam piece before i put it onto the car. Also no nissan stickers/box to show part number, and my "Y" had some paint missing on the side (you can't notice it when looking head on). And it's probably my imagination, but it doesn't seem to be as shiny as my 350Z emblem.
So all in all, i'm not very happy at all with courtesy nissan that i was sent what seem like knock-offs (black foam guide instead of blue, and no nissan part number stickers/box).

Jason, the ones you guys sell are for sure nissan oem emblems? (with part numbers and all like in the picture) If for sure, then i'll gladly order a set.
