Vented Hood/Engine Damage due to rain?
I'd like to buy a vented hood with scoop for better breathing and heat dissipation. Would exposure to rain via the vents/scoop damage my engine?

BTW, I'm thinking of selling my hood and going with a different look. If you're interested in buying it let me know. The hood is in perfect condition and would just need to be sanded down and repainted.
engines are waterproof these days. should be fine. of course you dont wanna soak anything even if it is waterproof cause itll get dirty. but it should be fine. I thought they had flaps for the inside to put in during rain.
not like the engine compartment is sealed before.

Are you refering to this hood? I like this hood, but it doesnt seem to safe to have water get in it. Someone please explain how this is not a bad thing.

I have the Seibon TS on my car since the winter, and its been through snow and a every rainstorm we have had (car is not garaged and is driven everyday). I was not worried about the electrical components to be honest, more about dirt collecting, but the engine bay remains clean and have had zero issues whatsoever. Although mine came with covers, they con't fit, so a moot point

electrical components are also sealed. sort of like a water resistant watch... the engine isnt waterproof, if you dunk it, its gonna have problems. but some water running over it, it can handle no problem.
I have the veilside v3 and it is a problem with the GReddy kit. The vents direct water right onto the Airinx intakes.
I am on vaca at the moment but I can post a pic of what we did to fix this when I get back.
