Maybe because of that huge front bumper u have... its bigger than the car itself. IMO.
Im glad im not the only one who thinks that's awful!! lol If you dont like the Headlights, you shouldnt have bought the car, because they practically define it. However, with the excessive bumper you have, it would make any lamps look "bland".

I am actually going to be trading in my STI on a 350Z or G35 coupe but I'll tell you right now both the STI and EVO look a hell of a lot more aggresive from the front than the Z. The Z is sleek and sexy but the front end is kind of plain and bland in a way especially compared to the rear of the car.

Ouchhhh

Personally i can't think of any other headlights that would look good. Maybe some silvia style looking lights? I'm happy with the stock headlights.

They may look agressive, but IMO not in a good way. Just my opinion though

slay2k, i remember seeing your car on ebay a few different times for sale. i actually emailed the guy the 1st time & this car was up for auction, supposedly it was in greece & the car could be purchased at a reasonable rate & shipped to the u.s., i again saw this ad just a couple weeks ago. the mods were acurately listed & the seller obvioulsy knew his car & aftermarket parts.....is this your car? did you have it auctioned on ebay? did you buy it from ebay? regardless of all the comments about the front end i think the car looks fabulous!

If so, can anything be done about it other than the silly-looking covers that make the car look like a "special olympics" contender ?

I'd be down with some sorta TRANSPLANT, something more hardcore perhaps.

here is my how-to on painting the housings.

2003z, nice write up!! nice to see it all layed out step by step, makes it seem less nerve racking trying to picture the procedure in my head, lol!

i wish there were a way to make the inner chromed surroundings look like carbonfiber. just the outer one that you painted black. the blackened inner housings on a black z just seem like a tad too much & if the black is off a hair it looks really bad. i thought a dark silver would look good on a black car......but cf inside the housing would look great! (IMO)

I was really turned off by the front bumper and headlights (tails, too). G35 is a better execution, but not like some of the concepts. If they'd tried something retro like the S30 "sugar scoops", I would've sold body parts to buy an '03. So why did I buy it? The test drive, man. The test drive.
