I hate the Z headlight design...
Anyone else agree with me ?
If so, can anything be done about it other than the silly-looking covers that make the car look like a "special olympics" contender ?
I'd be down with some sorta TRANSPLANT, something more hardcore perhaps.

I think the stock headlights look just fine, but if you want to make your car look meaner, Blacking out the housings or getting some smoked full overlays helps BIG TIME.

Well since I can't reply to that thread..
I can't tell which part of that housing was painted, the outside ? And what the hell is that black tape-looking thing in the middle ?

I love the way the Z's stock headlight look. Why would you want to change it? It flows perfectly with the car and gives it a sleek attitude. The black housing might look good on some Z's but I wouldn't change my headlights.

mgt, thanks for the worthless reply.
Azian, I personally think the Z headlights are downright weak. They may flow, but they look too passive and bland.

You seem pretty passionate about your disgust with the Z headlights, but with a twin-turbo setup like yours who's going to get a good look at the headlights anyway?

While surfing the net. I came accross a Z website where the owner of a 280z had some old photos of Datsun engineers standing around a clay mock up of the 240 or 260z. But in the background there was a picture or design of a older Z and it had our current tailights on it. Nissan went back to some old designs and our tailights were on a concept drawing. I am trying to find the link to the website.

Maybe because of that huge front bumper u have... its bigger than the car itself. IMO.
