Default Varis CF air duct installed**pics**

easy install, if you can get over cutting a hole in your bumper!! i used rivets instead of the supplied screws which were silver to secure the duct. the air duct came with a very accurate stencil, made things so, so easy. i used a utility knife to cut the bumper. here are two pics of the air duct installed. the rest of the pics are in my sig below.

Looks great - really aggressive! Have you noticed performance improvements? Do you get the elusive ram-air effect at speed? What about ingesting road debis/water into your intake filter?

i wouldn't say i have noticed any performance gains but my intake starts to whistle a lot sooner now it seems. as for road debris or water, i don't know because i just installed it today. i will come up with something to block the bugs and the water this weekend.

thanks for the comps!!! i did dread cutting the bumper, but the utility knife i used went through it like butter. it's all good!

Looks great! Matches perfectly with the JDM Finisher. Just wondering, why didn't you get smoked side markers? I think it'll go with ur black/white theme

Do you mind if we use some of your pics in the gallery of our website? That is the first one we have sold and Varis only has the one demo picture

What is the difference between Mines & Varis air duct?

Also, where are the 4 silver screws in your air duct? It was shown in the gallery.

MrGoingdown305: i didn't smoke the side markers because i am going to purchase the varis CF canards. they cross over the sidemarkers so i felt it was unnecessary.

EnthusiastZ: i purchased the air duct through TIM at www.bulletproofautomotive.com They had it on hand so i paid the non group buy price. if you want to order it from japan there is a group buy going. through the group buy, the air duct cost $140. just call TIM, RICH or BEN of www.bulletproofautomotive.com at 1-310-327-4676. also check out this website http://www.varisusa.com Not sure if they have anymore in stock so you'll have to ask. if not just order and pay @$30 less.

BulletproofRich: i don't mind at all if you use any of my pics. but, i would like to supply you with better pics. you know, a nice back ground on a sunny day type of pics. i can get you those soon. if it stops raining long enough for me to wash my car again, i'll have the pics this weekend. but if you are satisfied with the ones i have taken go ahead and use them. if anything, you can update my pics with my better pics once i send them to you. let me know!

the difference bewteen the varis and the mine's is price! period! $140-$160 compared to $490. i used rivets in my install as hndumafia stated. EnthusiastZ, you were right about me painting them black(rivets though). silver screws just wasn't going to cut it for me.

thanks for the comp!!!!

to clarify. The difference betwee the Mines and VARIS is also that the exit of the duct is slightly larger on the Mines. I've held them both side by side, and that was the main difference. I dont have exact measurements, but there is a small difference in size.

Both are extremely high quality carbon fiber production.

Looks great with your setup! Good price too.

I wonder if the added performance of the ram-air effect is enough to offset the added aerodrag...
