I removed the OEM antenna and replaced it with an after market one, Mfged in Germany, the antenna looks great but I lost about 80% of my radio reception. Any one out there who knows what antenna to buy that will keep the same reception and still look good?
Sorry if this has been posted before.
Thanks,

lunartick13 we probably purchased the same antenna, i had this german one as well another billet shorty antenna & both reduced reception greatly. i currently have my factory one back on.......
zectasy, would you turn your radio on & flip through a couple stations to see how the reception comes in with the s2000 antenna? just a flip through next time you drive the car. we would greatly appreciate it.......
thanx,

I just got the S2000 antenna last week and have not noticed any drop off in the radio signal. I listen to the radio on and off, but enough to tell if it made a difference.
It was $26 with tax straight from the Honda dealership. It's worth it.

From what I see so far The S2000 seems to be the way to go, I will try it even if my Z will be .000009% Honda. I will do the mod and post my results.
Thanks you all!!.
One more thing for those who have the antenna installed, how is the fit? does it line up like it was OEM?

i have the s2k antenna and it works fine and looks better than the oem one.
it is true that the base is slightly larger, but it not that noticable.
if you want to try another antenna, go to is300.net and theres a guy there who sells shorty antennas for $20. he guarantees reception, quality, etc...

When ALL else fails, try this one from: www.jscspeed .com EVO 8 "Perrin Shorty Antenna". I like the fit, looks and reception.

i just got my s2k antenna at my local honda dealership today. it was only $19.76, cant beat that! the reception is all as good as the OEM antenna. the bulkier base is nothing to complain about. after seeing statements made about it being bigger i pictured somthing totally different. were talking about a 1/32" difference, looks totally normal to me......
