I hear that, I've broken about 4 but didn't get around to replacing them. Instead just moved the ones I still have around enough to hold things in place. Someone could make a killing on aftermarket fasteners. I picked up some supposedly NISSAN fasteners at Lowes in their spare parts bin and they weren't even close to useable. Does anyone have any better ideas for broken fasteners, that are cheap?

To pull out the fasteners that get stuck I have had good luck using a 1.5" plastic putty knife from Lowe's that I cut a notch into (see image). I push this inbetween the fastener base and sheetmetal and simply pull up and they come out really easily. The putty knife is also great for gently lifting up the panel so I can get my fingers behind it to pull.

anyway, I'd like to see how the nylon plug looks painted.
Here you go. This is the nylon plug from underneath. Once inserted with a little around the top edges, I surrounded the plug/hole joint with the clear silicone.

Finally, an outside pic. I'm real happy with the low profile of the nylon plug w/o the grommet. I'm picking a new grommet up from Nissan, $4.00. Just to have it on hand when it comes time to reinstall when I sell the car..... not for a real long time though.

I picked up this metal plug at Home Depot. I believe it is similar to the Hillman Plug mentioned earlier.

Yeah the car looks better without the rear wiper. I just had the hole welded shut when it was getting painted but this is a very clean fix for the same look.
