Let ME clear one thing up here guys.

Those WONT be illegal if they are clear lensed and metal looking. The lense can be clear, but the bulbs need to be amber, off white, or yellow/orange. Check the FMVSS cfr 49 500 (i believe). There is a photometric range which is legal. 99.9% of the time you WILL NOT even get pulled over for clear white. Cops have no bloody clue that these cars didnt come stock with that

I make clear turnsignals for dodge avengers and have been doing so for 3 years. I wanted to do them for the Z but decided im busy enough with all the other toys I make haha.

Im guessing the seller is water jet cutting some metal (maybe stainless) in the shape of the turn with the holes. Then putting a plastic piece across the back and affixing some LED's. Maybe im wrong, i dunno. That is how I would do it.

Then again, he said GUNMETAL...........sooooooooo Im not positive. Could you explain?

Thanks

if it is done bt gunmetal. The finish will be similar to the Z enblem sliver finish. I choose that way cuz want to match every other part of the car. But for fast production. I'll start with the clear ones for now. Targeting time end of Nov. Will keep you guys update. Jay

I think either one would be cool but I'm leaning more towards the metal version. Seems like they could/would compliment the door handles.

Very cool, IMO.

If anyone here can come up with a brushed aluminum (at least looking) peice, with three squares for either lights or just existing orange reflectors, I would be VERY interested...IF its a quality part, and wont break off or some crap like that.

I have a question but dont feel like futzing with email.

what is your intended design and material? will it be metal and in the same design as that concept? will it have LEDs? or will it just be clear plastic(or whatever) and a bulb will shine through from behind?

just trying to understand what your planning to do, I read all the suggestions, but which ones have you taken?

Our first step is to make the clear ones. Exact like the stock reflector with no lights. Then we we'll make the concept ones. Eact like it, but with less LED. Jay@gtspec.com

Strictly Z is already making those LED concept ones your talking abou. Theyve posted pictures on here and it doenst look good.... It looks GREAT! How long is it going to take you to make these clear reflectors, and how much will they cost? What is it that you do that you can make these?

Will we be able to install them the same way as the stock clear reflectors from japanparts.com? Whats a guestimate on how much the led's will cost....?

LEDs are juicy. by far the best source for light second to xenon gas discharge.

i would LOVE led front reflectors. you could sorta turn them into side fog lites if you had enough leds in there.

id buy a set., talk to StrictlyZ.com, i'm sure they'll help you carry/distribute them too

victor is right. leds arent ricey. unless its blue and in your windsheild washers.

LED's are just a more efficient way of lighting. A brighter light at less power consumption.

I would like a set of amber with LEDs like the prototype. It would look stock but would change the front visual at night... would these be connected to just the parking lights or to turn signals too? I wouldnt mind someone coming up with a LED version of the rear brake lights.. not change the lens.. just the lamps... like this

000
00000
000000
00000

very tight packed LEDS... brighter without being all long graind rice.

( To me. rice means.. cheap car.. overloaded with plastic molding..massive subwoofers that rattle the plastic molding.. stickers for race clubs and underwear commercials.. fake fins and vents.. and gumby wheels and rims. )

Keep it looking stock and very sharp. Change it so no one knows what you changed.. it just looks more eye catching for some unknown reason... confuse em...

LOL

just my thoughts..

Thanks for all you guy's support. I won't let you guys down. I'm working hard on it now. I'll make sure it is in very good quality. I'll have my price for LED in 2 weeks.
