Question Custom Interior Ideas and Opinions Please

Alright I am about halfway though a complete custom interior installation on my DB Touring Z and could use some help. I started with frost interior because that is what my dealer had on the lot and I was able to get a very good deal on it. I am in the process of upholstering everything in blue ultra suede and black leather.

The problem I ran into is the dash. While my upholster is very good, he is apprehensive about wrapping the individual panels on the dash because he is afraid of it interfering with the passenger side airbag.

I have tried looking for a wrecked Z with characoal interior that these pieces could be salvaged from but have had no luck. If anyone has any experience with this or any suggestion or ideas I am all ears. Thanks in advance.

Greg

Thanks Ares, if you happen to remember his name feel free to Pm me. I have a feeling it might be hard to find replacement parts because of the integration with the airbags. Hopefully I can talk my upholster into wrapping the dash panels with black leather. I gotta take it apart first and see what I am dealing with. Between my experimentation and all of your guys knowledge I am having so much fun modding my Z!!! I will post pics once the interior is completed but it could be awhile as I have to do it in steps as I can afford it. Thanks again guys for the help.

That sounds like one hell of an undertaking.

Show car, perhaps?

I will post pictures as I can. After this tuesday everything behind the seats should be done and I will post pictures of that. The next step is the door panels, then seats center console and headliner plus I can only get the car in the shop on center days. But when all is done I will provide pics and prices so people can get an idea of how much work this will be if someone else wants to do it.

Thanks again,

Greg

one option; not a great one. nissan has a thing available to turn off the passenger airbag... its for kid seats or something; but you could just disable it. not exactly optimal solution... but one option.
