Talking Custom Roll Bar complete :)

Yay.

i had Richey at TechnoSquare build me a 4point roll bar for use with my Sparco seats and my 5 point harness i will eventually install... I think the install went well...

the bar is welded in, and uses the stock strut tower as a connecting point... luggage space is unaffected

enjoy my crappy picts i took with my palmpilot

notice the finger gap with the ceiling! Zero! yay

Looks lovely

By the way is the diagonal bar necessary, or can you do without?

you need the diagonal for rigidity, so if you roll it on one corner, your 'bar over your head wont collapse side to side. its welded to the rear tower with supports so it wont collapse forward or backward... basically everything with safety bars/cages are in support of each other for different angles of impact.... triangles offer the most load distribuition to each of the connecting points and are much more supportive than say just an open bar...

you might be able to get away with a diagonal if you do an X frame, but i didnt want to do that....

Looks good! Can you still get the glovebox behind the passengers seat open? Also what type of tubing was used and do they plan on offering this as kit of tubes they can be welded together?

we took out the pin on one side, for the glove box that allows the door to be removed.. we stuck velcro on the side we removed, so that it still swings open normally, and if you want to take it off compeltely you can.

we used Mild steel,

1.75" on the main bar and diagonal, 1.5" on the support beams. they offer this bar as a bolt on option, just have to drill the holes on the mounting plate, per request. they made this kit as a custom for me, but i'm sure if you would like a duplicate they can offer it in any configuration you want...

Aren't the cusco cages not approved by the IHRA and SCCA?

I'm a big big Cusco fan, but their cages are a f_in joke. The tubes are thin and the bolt on idea is ridiculous.
