If I wanted to put a seat in my car with a five point harness, how would I do it? Would I need to get a roll cage in the car. Where would the back of the harness connect to? Any company that makes it for the Z?

 

you have 2 options. 1. a roll cage. there are a few that i know of. kirk racing makes a bolt in 4 point. and piper motor sports will do a custom 4 point as well. i have also seen a few one offs. here is a link to one of them.

option 2. is a harnesses bar. i only know of 2. one is made by avalon racing. it runs directy from one upper seat belt point to the other. the second (wich i just installed in my z) is made by a company called bcr. it is a 4 point harness bar design. similar to the sparco setups out there for other cars. little more $$$, but MUCH nicer IMO. contact EnthuZ if your interested. they are a custom job ONLY through him! heres a good link for it!

as for seats, i like the recaro speeds for reclinables. (thats what im running) or the recaro spg's, if you want a full race bucket! brides are also VERY nice. just a little too tight for me! (5,9 185lbs.) there is MUCH debate about using harnesses without using a roll bar. i decided not to only because it would be a PITA to remove. you need to make your own call on it though. i dont have any pics of my setup yet, but ill get some this weekend! i have seen some "other" mounting ideas. but im not sure how safe they would be? hope this helps!
