Has anyone painted their interior dash from the middle conole up to the guages. I have a CS and Im thinking of painting the this section a chrome silver as well wiht primer, paint and then clear coat. Is this a safe move assuming I dont mess up or will the paint not look right? Any info greatly appreciated.

There is no reason that section cannot be painted. I do quite a bit of painting. If you have questions, or want my opinion on how to do the job correctly, pm or email me at DarrenBurgess@Insight.rr.com

I painted it black but it shows lint/dust easy now...I wish I could have sanded it down or something to make it look smooth although some say it looks like CF now.

you should sand it down, use a high grit sand paper to get it as smooth as possible. They give it a coat or two of poly primer, its a plastic primer that helps paint stick. Then paint it, Im not too sure about the painting process but im sure theres a bit of sanding required here. Click on the link in my sig to see how mine came out.

yeah; Id sand it smooth personally, that texture would be tricky to get a good even coat on. then give it a coat of primer; this whould show any surface imperfections, sand them out. then paint it, clear coat is optional, but can help give some material to work with when you do the final sand. start with 1000 or 1500 grit, and move up. finish it off with a good wet sand; and then wax it. should shine up good.
