Default Mirror blind spots problem

I m having trouble using the stock mirrors since the seat is kinda low inside the Z. I m like 5'7 so I sometimes have a hard time seeing the blind spots . And when I try to turn and look for blind spots...the big B pilar is kinda on the way haha. I dont want to put those cheap small circle convex mirrors on my stock mirrors. What do you guys recommend?

unfortunately there really isn't much you can do... if you've got the base model without the autodimming rear mirror, you can try installing those wider aftermarket mirrors

but the Z's blind spot is just inherently big... your best bet is to get used to it, and make sure you look carefully before making a lane change... you'll eventually get used to get...

(btw, try driving in a rag top with the top up and you'll know what a *real* blind spot is like )

i dont have any suggestions for the passenger side, but i bought a jdm convex mirror for the driver's side. it is great in increasing the field of view.

convex driver's mirror
it is an australian company, but i did the express delivery and received it very quickly.

When positioned correctly, you can see the blind spots easily... it's only a matter of being comfortable having the mirrors positioned outward and having confidence in using them (combined with a good sense of surroundings helps immensely ).

I just use small rectangular spot mirrors. With them I have no problems with my blind spot. In fact, I can't say I had to look back ever. With a spot mirror, if there's anything in your blind spot it with show up in the mirror and essentially take up the whole area so I know when there's something there.

Thats the thing . i dont wanna add the small mirrors, they look kinda weird i think
I found these APR mirrors
http://www.aprperformance.com/produc...ubCategoryID=5
they are too crazy for my taste, and you cant adjust the mirror from the inside.
The JDM driver's side convex mirror is cool, but 75 for one mirror is kinda alot.

The new 2005's supposed to have wider viewing mirrors. I haven't personally seen them, but the Nissan brochure highlights them as a change in the new model. You might want to look into it.

I'm 6'2" and when my -Z- was new, I had the same complaint.

I solved my problem by purchasing an Autralian LEFT side mirror which is convex since in Australia the LEFT is the passenger side.

It greatly increases your field of vision.

It is not heated though, like the one it replaced.

It does take some getting used to, because it distorts what you see.

Biggest benefit, I always know if someone is next to me. No more blind-spot.

Also, try lowering your inside rearview mirror to its lowest point before aiming it out the rear window.

Backing up is still a pain, perhaps a rear-view camera would solve that.

www.levelsports.com

I might purchase a set, if I do I will post pictures.
