Well I asked someone to write up the guide lines for that section prior to going back live.
They arent finished yet that I am aware of, so I will let him know he needs to finish them. As soon as the guidelines are done it will be back up..

GodZilla, Usually on forums selling advertising should be about pageviews. Number of active users or uniques monthly are not a very good indicator compared to how many times ads are viewed.
Of course when there's drama, it usually goes fast. More pageviews, more refreshes and chances are the thread might get linked somewhere else as well if the drama is really good.
More pageviews = better numbers to show your advertisers = more chances for them to brand their sites/products
I just looked at your become a sponsor page and I think you could probably pull more $$$ from advertisers than this by pushing the pageviews and the average number of times their ad is gonna get displayed.
Just my 0.02$ though, I only deal with search engines when it comes to online marketing, forums, especially car-related, are not my specialty. And sponsors are probably gonna hate me for this post anyway...

Nis350tt, it's not only about checking out sponsors immediately, but every time you get into a thread you have a few banners up there. It's the whole branding concept, the more often people are exposed to an ad the more likely that they'll think about that site if they ever want something related to it. AND it gets people to talk about their experience with this and that website and whatnot.
This whole exposure thing is why the amount of people coming isn't that important as much as the number of pageviews it gets. How many times are users exposed to your ad? How active is the average user? If you get 1000 uniques a day but surfers don't stick the advertising value won't be as good as the same 1000 uniques that stick around for hours and view many threads.
I'm sure with cookie settings you could gather the average time a registered member stays on, the amount of pageviews and whatnot.
Anyway this is kinda thread hijacking so I rest my case hehe. Anyway is my350z.com for sale by any chance?
