None of the subscribers to these forums (all free, by the way) have to put up with unsolicited advertisements (i.e. "spam"):

Corvette:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/

Mustang Mach 1:
http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/index.php

Porsche:
http://forums.rennlist.com/

What is ridiculous is having to become a "Premier Member" just to be able to avoid having to put up with this tripe. About as dumb as having to pay the phone company extra not to list your number in the phone book!

So then you pay the server fees? I mean somebody has to pay them. I'm sure they use a lot of bandwidth and it's not cheap. I don't understand what you expect? An ad-free site?

Nope, never paid a server fee. WTF kind of stupid question is that?

The advertisements for the Sponsers that support this site (Grubbs, CP Racing, Discount Tire, et al) and who provide parts and accessories that Z owners typically want are perfectly OK. Their logos are there in plain sight and not part of the conversation. These links that pop up in the posts are just like someone interupting a conversation asking if anyone is interested in spandex underwear.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying.....but anyways, nope, you haven't paid a server fee...but somebody does. How do you know the ads that are ok to you cover the expenses? My point is money is needed to keep this site up for free. If you can't ignore a word that's green and underlined instead of black, and it interupts your conversation, then you should pay to become a premier member. Otherwise, the lack of money they receive from you not being a premier member, is made up by those ads.

i know a guy that runs a forum that is really big, not as big as this one, but bigger than a lot... he makes a killing off of the sponsors, although he puts a lot of time in the site. he still makes a lot of money. it doesnt cost that damn much. its not like the Xnumber of sponsors for this site are paying 5 dollars to be sponsors, they pay hella money

i assure you that no one is losing money before these things

Funny thing is that they were able to keep the site running for quite some time, without having premier member fees, or underlined text.
