Default Who moderates the vendor classifieds?

I know this was discussed a few months ago by Audible Mayhem, but who exactly is in charge of looking after the vendor classifieds. I was in the engine section to post some stuff up....there is one vendor with, get this, 17 active topics on the first page alone.

Now, with customers not being able to bump our threads by replying to ads we post, surely someone with moderator status has to agree that 17 active threads by one vendor is a bit over the top. Keep in mind this is in one section only!

Can't we have a rule that consolidates it down to 1-3 active topics per section at any one time?

Thanks

That's not really a moderation issue as much as it's a policy issue, somethign the admins need to rule on. I'll bring your post to their attention.

jeez, 17 is abit excessive. Wouldn't it be easier for the customers and the shop to put everything in 1-3 threads?

I think it is squarely a moderation issue as there is no set policy regarding multiple ad posting. Common sense for a moderator should tell you that maybe the guy should be contacted and told to consolidate his threads. I also had sent a PM regarding this issue over the weekend and no one replied

I thought there was a rule that says 3 is the most active threads allowed.

I still am disappointed at the amount of traffic the vendor classifieds get. I post the same thread in the private classifieds sections and it gets 10 posts within a few hours whereas my thread in the vendor classified sections gets little to no interest at all after weeks. What gives?

That's just it - there are no rules I could find, but like I said, simple common sense tells you that a moderator should have stepped in. The fact that they did not reply to my PM regarding this over the weekend, and they didn't catch it themselves in the first place, tell you they don't watch the forum IMHO.

It really all stems from members not being able to reply to vendors in that section. I've never understood the reasoning behind it. Maybe if they don't allow members to post in the vendor classifieds, they don't have to moderate it. Oh well, that's just a guess. And just IMO. I wonder how long this thread will stay up?

No one answered my PM that I sent Sunday...that's why I started the thread. I know it's also been discussed many times, yet nothing ever seems to be done

Maybe we should just start posting a seperate ad for every item we sell.....

Perhaps each vendor can have a sub-forum.

Like Wheels & Tires

-subforum status
-subforum F1motorsport
-subforum subydude

etc

I don't like that idea...... Not everyone will go through every vendor's sub forum... Just my opinion IMO...

I agree - I cannot stand sites that have a seperate forum for each vendor. There are so many vendors here, the idea is to give a centralized place for people to go and look...not 25 different places

But let's not go off topic

I sent a link to the thread to the guy that asks us for money every month. Usually he is really prompt about replying to emails so hopefully he can respond quickly.

Jason - read my first post, you'll figure it out quick. It's the only one with 17 topics

Jason - FYI

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....72#post2776072

I had PM'd someone over the weekend about this, but no one replied

Hi Adam,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. If anything like this happens in the future please email or PM me directly.

I will speak to this particular vendor about spamming the forums. I've also been talking with Kyle about changing the format of the Vendor Classifieds and also allow users to respond in vendor created threads. I'll let you know when I have more information.

Again, please feel free to contact me with any future concerns or questions.

Thanks,

Jason

thanks man

So we talk to you, Adam, about our concerns? How does that work? Aren't you a sponsor not Admin?

Before, when the vendor classifieds were open to everyone, it would get ALOT more traffic as well as a lot of off threading. Its a toss-up. I think that a vendor should be able to admin his or her own thread in the vendor classifieds area, while allowing people to post there.
