Default Drag Section vs Off-topic

Since closing the "Street" section, there has been an influx of members using the Drag section with the same BS really. I would like to say that closing the Street section was a great idea, but now they have cluttered an actual useful section that I enjoy, and would rather not get cluttered by junk.

So, is there anyway we can just have a section in the Off-topic lounge for the useless, 350z vs. (insert another car here) type threads. I really enjoy the drag section, because its an awesome forum to learn techniques and look at everyones slips and such. Not hearing about stupid street races that are useless.

So can I get some people behind me on this one!

+1 I completely agree, but it would just be another name for street racing so it wont happen.

It is no different then what they are doing in the drag section now though.

I guess Im just suggesting that all NON-REAL drag racing threads be talked about in the other vehicles section in the Off topic lounge!

Nothing against John (I don't blame him in anyway), but I think it just needs better moderation. Maybe someone who can just 'police' the forums to lock/delete/remove threads that don't pertain to drag racing in a legal and authorized manner.

I was going to post this myself, but only found two threads in the drag racing forums, both from this week. I'm not sure if someone has been removing them, but I know I've seen more.

street racing does not belong in legal drag racing, not even the same thing. i would warn offenders first, then ban if repeated offenses occur.

There were a few threads this week actually. I will post them to you as I see them then. I dont want to get the label of a rat though, I would just like them to be moved elsewhere!

If you use the "Report Bad Post" link (red triangle with ! in it), the proper moderator will get a message that it was reported. No one else know who reported it or why.

There were multiple threads about this. They were closed but still can be searched.

It should be pretty obvious as to why it was closed, but if its not apparent to some, then:

1. It condoned street racing.
2. Tons of misinformation.
3. A lot of dumb arguments started in that section.

Other forums have gotten rid of it, and it was a long time coming to this forum as well. It was a stupid section, that caused way too many problems.

I usually visit the drag forum pretty often, but I've been busy lately. I'll try my best to catch all the inappropriate threads and delete them.

Sounds good to me. I enjoy going to the drag section daily, and hope to be there even more so with this summer. I just dont want it to get cluttered with crap!
