Mods IMO need to be older, established, even tempered, and open minded. I had an issue with one moderator because he was Christian, as as you all know, I have little respect for organized religion or its followers. If you're a follower you automatically have a decreased tolerance to criticism of your beloved religion.

Instead of having a few hard core 24/7, ***** to the wall, hardcore mods you should have many part time folks. ALL RELAXED AND OPEN MINDED folks BTW. The problem will be finding enough level headed, tolerant folks to fill these slots.
Personally I'd prefer the mods stay out as much as possible. I don't mean that offensively. I just don't really like censorship unless the vast majority finds it tasteless. I'm not for strict control, but rather a self moderated forum without mods. Mods should just be there for those special "WTF is that clown thinking" episodes. I don't report many posts except for spammers, and just brainless posts. But I think my tolerance level is higher than most.

Maybe. I was actually directing that toward certain individuals, not to the general public. My bad.Some of the mods and admins have been talking about some changes within the staff members for a while now, so don't think we are ignoring what you guys are saying. Things are hectic for everybody, especially this time of the year, and the rate of any major changes for our forum can sometimes be affected.
We'll strive to do what's best for the community, but just remember that the utilitarian rule isn't always the best solution.
