Default Forum speed to the point of unusable

Is anyone looking into why at all?

It comes at such a crucial time for our cars and the new ground breaking mods coming out.

I have discovered using Netstat that when I visit this site I get port 80 (HTTP) open **17** times running Netstat /an

Does this site have a firewall? If so is it logging any Ddos attacks or other things like pings of death (looped pings) that are taking all the bandwith?

That is why I said in another thread to try disbale HTML it worked on other forums being attacked it closes holes like port 80 etc.

It takes me 5 minutes to load a page on a Cable Connection yet I downloaded 10MB's of a program in 1 minute!

I traced all 17 port 80 connections on the last slow down to this site for the heck of it.

66.230.211.235

If I am lucky this will upload it took my other picture 70kb's and 640x480 on my FMIC 20 minutes.

Nodes 3 and 4 drop 50 % of the packets every single time at that IP when you traceroute that is really bad then it ends up here

Is that who owns this server in Florida or do they host it?
That is the IP that opens up 17 times on Port 80 when it's slow FYI.

Default FYI Speed has increased and now the IP only shows ONCE!

Can *anyone* comment on why this IP was connected to my PC 17 times yesterday and only once today?

Trying to help resolve the speed issue, not complaining.

The IP address in question is listed as an established connection at Port 80 in the pic below. It's the one that traces to Florida
but drops packets at Level 1 ISP at Node 3 and 4.

Sorry,

Just trying to help and I think foul play could be involved in your bandwith being taken via Denial of Service attacks via open holes in your server.

Does the server have a Firewall? (A hardware Router or software program that protects servers from attacks, trojans ,virus, port scan etc. If someone got into your server of Port 80 and starting port scanning and pinging in a loop etc the board would crawl to a halt man.

Is that IP I listed in Florida where the server resides and if so why would it need to be open 17 times at once on my PC on the same port?

Does anything above I listed pertain to the server hosting this forum?

Lets start there.

Wanna lear for real? I did the hard way.

Start here at Steve Gibson's site, he got so good at protecting his server the FBI hired him!

Start here it's a good read if you have time.

I'm heavy into this crap sorry if I sounded Greek bro.

My goal is to combine my LEO skills with my Network and love for computer skills in one ultimate job; Network Security for Law Enforcement. That is why I got into Investigations on the side, it's a start. I have a degree in CIS but any 15 year old can learn this stuff or download these scanners.

Crack, Sniff, Scan lol what is the world coming too

Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's WHOIS

All I am saying is someone from the Admin should call and ask why the slowdown and and the 50% dropped packets on the ridicoulous slow pings and why a person connected to this site only would have Port 80 open to their IP address 17 times.

Then ask them if they log their pings and connections and if everything on their end looks normal.

If it does and nothing is maliciuos then the Server needs to be upgraded or moved since it hops all over the place.

I'll donate 5 bucks to start the campain to speed up the site!
