Completely agree. Hopefully I wasn't one of the folk you felt belittled by. I was just laughing at the asking why a filter was doing something. I missed that it didn't used to do it.

If I may, allow me explain the reason, the type of answers given, were given. Moderating, I have learned is a thankless job 75% of the time. We do not get paid to do this job, but do it for the love of the site. For the most part, yes we do have a busy schedule. I personally have a full time career, train daily for competitive running, manage a relationship, and yet still find time to moderate. Simply because I love the site. If you see a post from me at 3am, it's not because I can't sleep. It's because I woke up for a glass of water or to jizz. During this time dedicated Moderators and staff members such as myself take the time to check the limitless amounts of PM request we have, countless "report post", and staff section for the lateless site updates. When I am not personally giving you guys all my free time at work, on my work PC, I'm checking the boards from my Blackberry. Moderating becomes a job, a thankless one, but one we staff members find rewarding. Rewarding, knowing that forums members have a place to chat, rant, talk car talk, or just plain out be entertained. So when we see titles such as the one of this thread and posts such as the 4 below, that reek of sarcasm, with us being the target, yes it does strike a cord. Hence, the type of responses given, were given...

Some mods will always have big inflated egos... although most generally hold themselves to higher standards... it's sort of like police officers. Most are cool but every once in a while you run into one thats on an ego trip....

This is possibly the most childish behavior I've seen from mods (except for a certain incident in the FI a while back). I mean really, that site is so small, who really gives a crap. Its not like if a few people have "My-GTR" in their sigs, all 100,000+ users on this site are going to migrate over there all at once. I don't have an opinion about the site and the whole schism one way or another, but is it really worth all this effort to block a f*cking link? I swear, people on this site need to get a life.

VO-

Here is what it looked like to me when i first found my sig was changed. It appeared that a mod saw the little mygt*.com link and picture and decided that it wasn't appropriate. It has been there for months since the separation from MC so it didnt appear that it was an auto correct.

From my perspective, it looked like the mod decided to be cute and change the link from mygt*.com to my350z.com (resonable seeing as how its not my350z friendly) and went as far as going into my photobucket to find the one screen shot i had from an error that i pointed out (trying to help get the site back together) after the update and put that link for my sig.

What actually happened was far different then what it appeared so seeing as how it appeared i was somewhat annoyed.

The original post was an attempt to show that i wasn't happy with what i thought happened and was suppose to be a somewhat shot at the "mod" (which wasn't the case) who made the alleged change. It however also was a respectful post and i didn't think that i crossed any lines because it was intended to show my annoyance.

No. I was referring to the mod, who i will not name, that decided to "use pictures and small words" (an obvious insult to my intelligence) to answer a question that wasn't asked.

And Chris is one of the few mods that ive seen reason with people to find a solution that doesn't involve irritating members (although it has happened).

Correction: it's a thankless job 99% of the time.
I rofl'd @ "jizz."
Personally, I don't think Chaser720 was out of line. He noticed that his sig was changed all of a sudden for no apparent reason after all this time so he was just asking about it. He could have been a tad bit better with his wording, but I've seen and have dealt with (and still do) much worse. I'd be kind of mad too if somebody changed my sig.

Speaking of "striking a cord.."

You don't even know half of the things that occur on this board. I suggest you go back to baking headlights rather than calling us "childish." Seriously, though, there were reasons for doing so which will not be stated here. I promise they're valid.

With that being said my friend, it is well known that the separation of site affiliation between the two was set in stone. It is also known that, at least I would believe it is to most that frequent the boards, that any promotion of MyG-tr have been prohibited on this site. It's nothing personal, just business as usual, like any others competitors URL. Those that have continued to fashion the MyG-tr tag or URL have pretty much been let to slide, due to staff finding it peddlesome to go through and edit every offender's offense. This and to avoid the drama factor. Those that continue to have it in their sig are well aware of it's nature, and continue to do so. So to act seemingly surprised that a staff member could have removed it due to it's nature is somewhat trivial. I hold it along the lines of parking in a handicap spot with no decal, then acting surprised upon returning to one's vehicle and finding a ticket. Questioning the validity of the ticket strictly on the basis the offender has gotten away with it previously unconsiquential.

Aside from what I have just stated above, I could see your POV on what could have transpired. However sir, I always believe it's never a good thing to jump to conclusions and verbally announce it via sarcastic inuendous acquisations. As it turns out this was a technicality, free of any Moderator intervention. So I ask, what type of tone would you have if someone made discreditable inuendo towards a group in which you represent?

Either way, we see eachother's perspective. This is absolutely nothing personal by any means. We are still friends.

I'm sorry - I didn't mean to insult you. You seemed to be more interested in a conspiracy theory than doing the research that would have made drawing the connection more obvious.
