Default Little Late Mods...

So who was the "friendly" mod that decided that the mygt*.com link in my sig needed removal and a random screen shot with a link to my350z.com was necessary.

I know we went through this a while back but i was really wondering who found time out of their "busy" mod schedule to swap this out.

And what really through me off was the random screen shot that they must have "found" while searching through my photobucket.

Just wanted to give whoever it was the big and ask why that was needed so far after the fact.

Nobody changed anything. The language filter automatically maps "M Y G T R" to "my350z". You have a pic on photobucket named my350z.jpg containing the image that's showing as your sig. Do the math.

+1 Perfect answer.

I would think they would tell you if they do things like that. I'm not sure what to tell you, though.

The thing is that it only happened yesterday and has been up for like 3 months. Just seems kind of random that it would switch it around all of the sudden.

And im not accusing anyone of anything but just wondering why a mod (or random script changer) would change it now and now when the site was updated.

Here, I'll try to explain it with pictures and small words.

This is a snap of your profile settings...

As you can see, it points to MYGTR.jpg, right????

The filter automatically translates references from MYGTR to MY350Z, so the actual URL it uses is:

http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii312/chaser350Z/my350z.jpg

If I browse to that location (in YOUR photopucket account), this is what I see:

Look familar? It's your current sig picture.
Translation & Redirection > YOU

Yeah... I get it. Please read what i am saying not explain the filter to me as i already know it exists and what it does.

My question is why would it change it now and not when the site was updated (hints post #8).

Thanks for the answers to different question but if a mod could answer the one im actually asking... that would be great.

The filter's been on for months - since the break with MC. I can't explain it from this end. Did you make any updates to your profile or sig about that time?

I think I can explain why it happened.

Recently, some of the admins were having an online meeting during which we noticed that the filter for "my gtr" was missing all of a sudden from our censored words list (we know we put it there, you guys know we put it there). So, it was recently added back along with some of the other words that are used often used in spamming and whatnot.

Shweet. Thanks for the info Chris. That would explain it.

And on another note, is it my350z freindly to have the link to my gtr.com?

I wouldn't think so, since they're on the censored words list. Sorry.

Let me add that we cannot prevent the users from linking to that forum, so you technically can. However, if they are noticed, they could be removed without warning.

Yeah. No problem. I just appreciate it when people actually explain stuff and dont try to belittle me to make themselves seem like they are the uber.
