I was gonna say. I've seen so many people in their 30's, 40's and 50's in clubs it's ridiculous.

Whilst I understand and agree with some points about the younger Z owners not ready for a car like the Zed and the figures and road statistics that speak volumes, I do feel some of this 'hatred' is directed at the younger drivers simply because of jealousy. I'm not exactly a young-un but you shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush and make sweeping generalisations.

I love this forum but what is essentially age discrimination just sours the whole experience. The older members on here should just try and promote integration as opposed to catalysing the whole situation.

I dunno, its just my opinion. I doubt it'll change anything though.

Hey - welcome from a fellow Englishman.

I've been living here now for over 5 years, and I can see where you are coming from, but let me tell you how it is.

In the UK, kids these days do not have parents (in the main) that can afford to give them a brand new car - the cost of living is far more expensive and just in general I think, people culturally are not as "spoilt".

Here - it is NOW at least, VERY normal for a parent to gift little Johnny whatever he wants and a new car, truck or in some cases a sports car is not unheard of.

This is partly due to the lower cost of living here compared to Europe, partly due to spoilt Millenials being given things by their fail parents who feel that gifts will make up for their shitty childhood.

I have seen more spoilt young ******* teens in this country in 5 years than I have ever seen in the UK. Someone told me that it was not uncommon for someone to be gifted from family about $4-5k just for graduating High School.

I got told to get a job and get the **** out of the house...

Graduating HS? ****.. I'd have thought it was more important to gift them if they DIDN'T graduate because they'll need it more lol.

Anyway - the reason why a lot of us bitter twisted old bastards are down on young drivers is because we see a chain of evidence typically:

A) look at me I got a cool car! B) Look - I modded it in a rice fashion C) Look - I crashed it because unlike the average 30+ yr old my first car was a RWD 300+ HP 350Z and not a FWD 150 HP Ford Escort.

That's not always what happens, but almost nearly...

Ah yeah I understand. We do have our own fair share of young drivers acting like pr1cks but they tend to drive the aforementioned Ford Escorts all "chavved up" as we say as opposed to a 350z or something similar.

Just a cursory glimpse on the forum however makes it look like the older members are dishing out blanket abuse on younger drivers and I can see it putting off a lot of people joining the forum community. Also, I observed a thread where some poor sod had a rather horrid bonnet scoop desecrate his 350z and whilst some people here in the UK would have just made clear that it wasn't to their style- "everyone to their own" and all that.

But again, I understand many of your sentiments as I mentioned in my first post on this topic.

Btw- atleast you don't have to fare with monstrosities like this on your streets:

Why don't you run off to another forum.. Quit trying to water down this one. The OT section, the real talk, no bs etc.. is what still makes this site entertaining. If I want info on the 370z, I admit I go elsewhere now.. If I want to be entertained or hear some interesting takes on random subjects, this place is f'ing great.

Quit trying to ruin it. I am 28 and you are reminding me why I hate this generation. God bring on the 30s. I "paid" for everything I had at your age too, a MKIV Supra TT I drove like an absolute lunatic. You begin to realize as you age, that many of the wisdom that was shared with you, is correct, and to respect those that have lived life.

Sorry BRO, you are not that much different. You live in a nice area of CA, you don't pay for it. Your firefighters salary is not going to buy you a house in Ranchos Palos Verdes. You could make 150k and not afford a house and a Z there. There is a little thing called a downpayment. These nuanced annoying financial facts of life come around when you become an adult.

See why all you do is front, people like Ron are posting up pics of their Gallardos and making us all smile and fap. Quit watering down the site, grow up, or go elsewhere. Plenty of other Z sites that will hold your hand, none of them will be as entertaining as this one

It looks like this thread's going nowhere.

Bottom line is, that people need to grow some thicker skin, try to be more understanding of another's situation, let things be and not participate, etc. It's the internet, people. Seriously, get over yourselves. Just because you're young, it doesn't mean you have to show your age. Just because you're old, it doesn't mean you have the right to harass others.

If you guys keep this up, it'll only lead to stricter rules (that'll suck for everybody). I think we have enough rules as it is, so I'd rather not have to draft up another clause for the TOU.
