New Member, Question about selling wheels!
Hi everyone!
I am a new member and I am not sure if this is the right place for my questions so I apologize in advance but I did try to search around for answers.
I have some questions that I am hoping some of you can answer.
1. What forms of payment do people use (Paypal, etc.)?
2. Does a seller receive payment first before shipping?
3. How do both parties protect themselves against fraud?
4. Can anyone provide a general overview of this process?
Thank you!

Not sure where this would go, so whatever.
1. What forms of payment do people use (Paypal, etc.)?
Yup, paypal. Honestly, I wouldn't trust anyone asking for anything else, unless it was an in-person pickup.
2. Does a seller receive payment first before shipping?
Yes. Definitely don't ship first.
3. How do both parties protect themselves against fraud?
Paypal provides insurance, as long as the money isn't a "gift" (Never use "gift" money on paypal. Eat the fee or up your price, it isn't much.
4. Can anyone provide a general overview of this process?
1. Be a member for 90 days, reach 500 posts, or become premier.
2. Take some pictures (with your username in the pic)
3. post them in the marketplace with a full description, even the bad stuff
4. ???
5. Profit!
Edited for post requirements...

I only accept USPS money orders, the kind you get at the post office. I cash it when I ship the package, and walk out the door with cash in hand.
Paypal's buyer protection policy is biased in favor of the buyer so heavily that an unscrupulous person can easily file a bogus claim, and get their money back. When that happens, you're pretty much screwed unless you've taken extraordinary measures to document every step of the transaction.
I quit using PP for selling stuff years ago after I sold someone on another forum a perfectly good tool. Two weeks later, PP removed the money from my account. Then I received a package from the buyer containing scrap metal that weighed the same as the tool. The guy's UPS receipt for shipping the scrap was enough "proof" for PP to side with him on the ripoff. There was no way I could convince them otherwise.
The buyer using a USPS MO is protected because it's a federal crime to defraud someone using the mail.

I agree with the comment about PayPal being for buyers.
I sold my used shift **** and they sided with the buyer because of their policy. Granted I think this person was a scammer from the get go on eBay.

Looks like your questions have been answered but shout out to binghamton. SUNY Binghamton will be back in session in a few days. Time to hit up state street and take down some freshman chicks
