The search seems to have become the tire feathering of MY350Z.COM.

 

Hmm, free BB, no monthly fee's? If the search function has to be disabled for a month or 2....I really won't complain.

 

I agree, this site is a great resource to all of us. Info, advice and bargains that are difficult to find anywhere else, all of which is provided for free. Features like the search option are very helpful but remember everything cost money. I would much prefer that the search option be down than the entire site. I am also getting very anxios to get the search working again.

Please GOD hear our cries.

 

So what it's free. They should still fix an important functioanlity of the site when it goes down. One day, two days, but 2 weeks

They are making money from us by visiting. The Traffic and sales we members generate produce revenue.

We are customers anyway you look at it. We give this site our time and experiences with the Z to better this community, The Site is just a veichle for us to share this information.

The members make this place what it is, not the other way around.

With the Search down it dilutes the quality of the threads.

seriously. i see more threads saying "350z or sti/rx-8" what is zaino? anyone tried a popcharger? best CAI? blah blah. we cant tell them to search.... GAH. i just hope they are working on it and not just letting it go until they get around it. its probably a big pain, but they should at least say something.

 

More than that, My350Z.com is in need of a serious upgrade. This site has more traffic than all the other 350Z sites combined. It has a huge member base and incredible sponsor support. Unfortunately, once more than a hundred users are online at a time, it becomes dreadfully slow.

 

The problem is, bandwidth ain't cheap. And it probably has a lot to do with the database too. MySQL is great for small applications, but there's a reason large companies use more expensive servers like Oracle and SQL Server. Oh well.

 

what's the official word on the search? I'm sure there are members, me included, that are qualified and willing to help

not having a search is a big pain in the a$$. just look at all the popcharger threads and i can no longer find threads that i remember reading previously.

 

From what I can tell noone cares. Has there been a response from an administrator regarding the SEARCH ?

If I were a VENDOR I'd complain after all they actually PAY for us to be able to search and find their offers, contact info, etc.

It's not disabled. It's just broken. If you try it, you get a database error.

 

I whole-heartedly agree with everyone. The most frustrating thing of all is that there are no real status updates as to what is going on, what they are waiting for, what went wrong, etc.

Maybe there is a long discussion from the admin re: search but we just can't find it because it's buried somewhere deep in the my350z database.

 

 

Maybe there's a TSB. Has anyone checked?
