There's probably a difference between mentioning a site (which goes on here all the time) and promoting a new or different site.

This site, or any other one for that matter does not have to give you free bandwidth to advertise or promote a non-sponsor, competing site, etc.

ive always wondered what does vic get out of being the admin for this site? must be a pretty fat check? shouldn't that be incentive for him to keep this site running strong?

So wait, my350z is not even on a dedicated server!?

What a joke...

I've seen MUCH smaller sites that have their own dedicated servers <----- notice the use of a plural

Not only that, both the database and all the files are on the same server.

This site gets more pathetic every passing day. Yesterday I couldn't get on AT ALL... WTF.

Looks like I'll be hanging around 350zmotoring more often.

he pockets several k each month.. So there is abolutely no reason that this site is in the ****-poor condition that it has been in for well over a year.

If I had the amount of money coming in from this site, I would be GLAD to run it. I know some people who have 99.9% uptime. They have it set up that if BY CHANCE the server went down, everything automatically gets transfered to one of their ***1000's*** of servers and is automatically up again with-in 30 seconds!!

You should see this place.... Its INSANE, its some 7,000 sq ft warehouse full with servers, back up generators, full air conditioning units to cool the whole place. Is nuts!

----------------------------------------

Reliability:
1&1 Internet guarantees 99.9% uptime. We are confident in this guarantee because at 1&1, even our fail-safes have fail-safes. Backup generators, multiple hard drives, dual routers, cooling systems and gel battery power banks give us real redundancy so our fleet of 25,000 high-end servers will continue to operate regardless of external conditions.

Speed:
Our industry-leading 15,000 MBit Connectivity allows for no-nonsense, fast transfers at all times. The result is that more users can access and interact with your website, faster.

Security:
24/7 monitoring by internet specialists, 150+ permanently recording video cameras, safety locks and more ensure that only authorized personnel can enter 1&1 data centers – your data is always safe and secure.
Now you can see just some of the reasons 1&1 is the largest and most advanced web hosting arena in the world.

Data Center IV offers room in 11 areas for over 660 racks, which when fully equipped can accommodate more than 26,000 servers.

Eight high-powered cooling units rated at 5,600 KW and two spiral vortex compressors work alongside bespoke heat exchangers to keep everything cool. Every system is n+1 redundant

The security airlock ensures that only authorized personnel can enter Data Center IV. Only one person can pass through the airlock at one time.

In the event the grid is down, five huge 16-cylinder diesel generators supply constant, reliable power for all of our systems. These generators could power a small town when combined.

Check out their $25 million building
