Question TT qustions

Ive done the search on this subjsect so if im being repetitive im sorry. Looking into TT kit, Greedy or APS, or is there any other options? Like the fact that Greedy is close and found a kit for aroud $5500.00, is that a good price? But I have heard all the great praise on the APS, so do I wait and save for that? Will any kit pass smog? I am leaning toward the Greedy, do I need anything in addition to the kit? Will the emanage work ok or do I need a reflash? Thanks for any help you can give.

If you buy the greddy kit I would say a blow off valve and a e-01 would be 2 verry good things to go with it

Perhaps, you could save some cash and buy my barely one month old kit? It has the kit with intercooler, polished BOV welded onto the charge pipe, and the Greddy turbo timer . . . and less than 2K miles on it.

Read this thread for a more indepth explanation . . .

Here

Any questions, pm or email me . . .

Thanks for the help quys, what does it take to increase boost safely. Im guessing adjust timing, and if so can the emanage do that safe enough or do I need something else.

The best advice is to read over this Forced Induction Section there is a lot about what to do to increase boost and what measures to take.

A better question is how much whp do you want? What type of priorities do you have for the vehicle (personal, show, race, etc)?

there is a ton of info here..I know its sometimes a PIA to read through everything but after looking over a few threads you will quickly realize who here knows what they are talking about and who doesn't

neither kit will pass SMOG yet....no one knows what the future holds though.

In terms of anciallary parts, gotta ask yourself (and be honest0 how much power you realistically want to make now, and in the future.

Hi Adam, If you're referring to the normal smog test that many states in the US test to (IM 240 smog test) then I'm positive that the APS TT system will easily pass that SMOG test.

If you're actually referring to the CARB emission test then it's true we don't have a CARB Exempt Order yet though we hope to in the future.

Obviously there'e a big difference between the 2 emission tests and this is one of the reasons why APS retained the stock cats in the APS TT system.

Thanks

Peter

Greddy Type is good for 10-12psi. Beyond that, I would switch to the R version.

BOV are personal preference...for the most part. Each one has a unique sound.

I would be happy with 350 to 400 rwhp for now I guess. I think it takes a lot of money to go beond this point. I just want to be safe, if that posible. Thanks again for the help. I have search a lot of the posts on here, and must say there is alot of usfull help. But had one question, do you have to custom mount the BOV's. And what do the factory kits from greedy come with.

usually the bov will come with a flange that you will have to get welded on to the piping. the ones that come with prewelded flanges are usually for factory turbo cars. i have always liked the sound of the blitz, but its personal preference. listen to some( i'm sure there's a website that has some sound bites) first and then decide.

The BOV's do not come with the flange adaptor you will need. Your shop will order the appropriate flange for the BOV, and then any welder will simply weld the flange onto the IC discharge pipe. Make sure the BOV is installed prior to the MAF.
