Default Possible FI problems with my '04 ECU

Hey guys been a while since I have posted outside of a bling forum. But as summer creeps closer, my FI plans are having to be finalized for summer '05 . I am solid with the internals, pretty sure what I am doing tranny wise, still up in the air about what is going on with an aftermarket LSD. But the biggest hiccup I can see in the future, of course, has to do with computers.

Car is ULEV II compliant and I have been browsing a thread talking about the newer cars REALLY not wanting to have their software monkied with. My assumption to get around this problem is, cut the stock ECU out all together. Again I am not a very tech savvy guy yet but I am working on it. With the full engine management software setups, my assumption would be the car's brain no longer has any say in what is happening with the engine. It gets shoved aside and told to sit there and be quiet. My question is if these ULEV conditions would have made it so that a system would go bonkers again, even if the engine is running on a stand alone. I imagine that's the whole point of the FCON Pro etc.

Of course the final problem is I am unawares of any systems other than the HKS which totally cut out the stock ECU on the engine side. And the reason that crates a problem is that I live in Florida and I understand that when it comes to these computers, you need someone who knows it inside and out. Well Texas and Ohio are pretty far away, and I wasn't planning on making a road trip this summer, so I am in a bit of dilema.

Anyhow, the over all question is when taking a ULEV II 350, straping it with a TT setup and replacing the internals for higher boost, what are my options for the engine management systems?

... Nothing? All I am asking is due to possible complications with my ECU what management solutions I can look in to to totally circumvent any possible factory emission standard problems. Avoiding limp mode or any other Nissan software problems with FI.

From what I have read HKS has their stand alone, but I am not sure that this totally eliminates any potential factory ECU problem, although I suspect it does. On top of that, there is no HKS autorized tuner anywhere near my location, so I was hoping people had a solution/alternative. Not sure why I am getting the cold shoulder at the moment, you guys have always been super helpful and knowledgeable.
