Stupid warranty question!
I take it a supercharger voids the entire factory warranty?
Or does it void just the engine and transmission? I am thinking
about getting one, but my car only has 2000 miles on it.
Opinions?

well it voids the warranty per say...
If you have a mod friendly dealership, this always helps. IF you go to one that is not mod friendly they won't even touch your car.
But if something were to go wrong after you put the S/C on, and the dealership figured out that the problem was not related to the S/C then they will fix it under warranty... but again you have to make sure to find mod friendly dealership. You can just go into your regional thread and ask there...
The Vortech comes with it's own 3 year warranty, but this covers the kit not the engine. But I haven't heard of anyone with a Vortech having problems such as blowing engines, especially if you plan on just running the kit as it comes from Vortech, it will be VERY rich and you won't have to worry about anything...

To bad you don't live in the dallas area. Grubbs Nissan offers some of there 350z with the vortech or ATI superchargers. I bet if you had them do the install, they would honor the warranty. then again that would be a drive. Grubbs has even been friendly to my car with the greddy kit that I installed. Main thing is to find a mod friendly dealer, like cat2102 said.
Legally, then can't deny warranty covering unless THEY can prove that the modification you made to the vehicle directly resulted in the damage to your car.
I forgot the name of the law passed by congress..someone I am sure...can recall it.
For instance, if you install at TT or SC, and your power windows manfunction, that would be covered under warranty. If you threw a rod...it would be highly unlikely that your dealer woudl cover it.
Like Cat said...ask around for a mod friendly dealer.

i heard that they will honor this law but have some kind of agreement ahead of time...such as...it will cost 1k to have the car dissassembled and investigated, if they determine the modification was not at fault then then they will pay the 1k for the labor/time and warranty the work...on the flip side, they determine it was at fault they make you cover the 1k and you gotta still fix the car (not covered by the warranty)
has anyone heard of this practice...a few dealerships explained this to me in the past.
