Default Vortech Kit

I have seen people go all the way to 500hp almost using the Vortech Kit. I was wondering, how much hp and tq max do you think you can get out of the Vortech Kit with a built motor and tuned right. I am going with the Vortech because I have little money and want to have both the kit and a built motor. I can get both for how much it would cost just to get the APS kit. I am buying a used Vortech, and getting SGP to do my whole bottom end. I will leave the heads stock for now since I have heard no one blow anything in there heads yet. I am only looking for around 500hp and 450tq and want to run 11's. That all I need to be happy. 600hp and above would be nice, but costs too much right now. Maybe later down the road. Thanks

Forgot, also, can the supercharger with the Vortech kit be upgraded to go further. I have seen different types of superchargers that Vortech sells that are made for high hp ranges.

Where is SGP? I plan on getting the vortech too i think, but i think i'm just going to leave the boost low so no internals. Don't think i can spend that much money anyways. With a built motor, i'm sure you could reach your goal, not sure how reliable that would be though.

I dont think you can get 500 whp out of the blower that comes with the kit . And it would be hard to fit a bigger blower in that space . They may make a blower the same size that can produce more boost...I dont know

First thing, you are going to want cams. Second, the most horsepower from a Vortech that I have seen is 435rwhp and that is with the 2.87 pulley at 11.5psi. No one has tried the 2.62 pulley as far as I know. I was thinking about trying it, but if you go by Vortech's numbers the blower wouldn't be able to take it.

The only way to get more horsepower would be to switch the supercharger itself or get Vortech to build one for you that can handle more RPM's. (who knows if this is possible)

With a low compression engine you could bump up the redline and keep more timing. This would bring your horsepower numbers up, but no one knows how much because it hasn't been tried before.

Superchargers are not like turbos. You can't just simply turn up the boost. Your best bet would be to call Vortech and see what they can do for you.

I remember "Forced" from Vortech said their blower can be upgraded to handle higher rpms. I think if you are going for 500hp you should get the ProCharger tuner kit instead, the procharger is rated up to 680hp, so you don't need to upgrade the supercharger.

I made 425rwhp with cams and the stock (3.33") pulley (and other mods you see that most people run). Tuned properly and with the 2.62 or 2.87" pulley, it is feasible to think the engine could hit very high 400s, maybe even 500.

But I think that would be about the limit without having the actual supercharger unit upgraded. As LouZer said, several people have tried the 2.87" pulley now, but no one has tried tne 2.62". With those pulleys, your really are beginning to reach the limit of what the supercharger can produce in the way of boost.

I went on Vortech's website, and I think I was looking at the right thing, but it said that this supercharger could handle up to a max of 20psi. and 500hp. I was thinking of getting them to rebuild it for me to handle better rpms. Also, was thinking of getting a bigger one, seen one up there that was almost the same size, main difference through was they told me that you would get alot of supercharger wine from it. The ones we have were made to be quiet. Hey, alittle wine won't hurt me for hp and tq.
