Crank/Cam angle sensor wire fix: GB Interest list only

350zDCalb: There is no chance that they will be ready by then.
The plugs will be ordered on Monday if we go thru with this, and in which case it will take about 3 weeks from then to get them ready to ship.

I have datalogged the car for 5 dyno passes.
The car is running 5psi of boost with a greddy kit on an otherwise stock car, even the exhaust.
The crank trigger signal appears to be picture perfect. Perhaps I am not scoping it right... but I mean at lower RPM my settings showed it looking very textbook, and then at higher RPM i dont get any noise at all... just the signal is a lot more brief and I dont see the same profile... but its clean.
Here is a sample from AROUND 6000 RPM... you tell me if you see any noise...
so at any rate... I am going to send a test cable to a shop that currently has a high boost running 350z at their dispense... and they are going to test it to see if it takes care of a little thing that they are suspicous of the crank trigger signal of.
Guys, I will build and sell these if you want it done... but I really wanted to prove something with them first... and so far I am not getting anywhere. If the shop that tries out the test harness doesnt see any difference or improvement of a wierd thing that is being reported... then I would only sell these as a pure novelty, such as a grounding kit... I dont like the idea of selling something i cant prove works... thats not in my nature... but if you guys want it for the JUST IN CASE factor... I will gladly claim that "this product MAY help in prevent erratic crankshaft position sensor reading interpretation by the ECU".
After the other shop tests it and checks to see if it does anything for them... well... that and my day today is all the time I really have to spare for a product like this... If i cant see some kinda results... unless there is still a demand for it as what I will call a novelty, im just gonna drop out.

Thanks Charles ..your an upstanding guy . Let us know what the other shop finds out .Sounds like this problem just may be a hit and miss problem . I may have you do the cam sensor wire if your going to make them . I put in new cams and Ive read some are getting bad signals from them . [what do you think ]..Bill

My car was the official test car and Charles and I looked for a noticable change or erraticism in the crank trigger for a while with no results. Well maybe its more common in higher boosting cars or maybe its 1 out of 20 cars. Dont know but still wouldnt hurt as I always say. Charles thanks again for spending as much time on this as you did you and your crew really are amazing people. Thanks James

Heavy Sheilding from Factory - The Signal is flawless..
I just ordered a 60mm throttle body (a 240 SX type) to put on the 90.000 mile (white) Car

how difficult is it to swap in this wire?...i imagine having my motor out makes it much easier, but even with it installed, when you have the wire and connector or whatever fabricated, is this a big job to swap this wire in?
thx

Phunk your results dont surprise me. APS only noticed the interference on some cars....and under certain high boost conditions. It was really weird...very erratic. But at the end of the day, they decided to add the shielded cable to their kit.
And even if the interference is only present in 1 out of 10 cars boost 8psi or more, I would still buy the cable.
Papa's, I will start a specific Gb thread if everyone still wants to go through with this..

ECU pins can be hard to come by since there are so many different varyations.
I think most ppl who have five digit investment in their cars will still do this, even if it is only on 1 of 10. Call it insurance. Most ppl won't know if they're the one until they destroy the motor.
I'm down.
