Default New rear axles...

I was told by ZXRage that I would need to change the rear axle in order to handle the goals I want. Here's a place that sells rear axles: http://web.inetba.com/dss/item158471.ctlg I believe one of these is used on the Performance Motorsports 350Z. Level 5 hold 800hp, so i'm not sure what they used. Sorry if it's a repost, but I don't believe i've ever seen anything about this before.

I bought these a couple months ago after breaking 1/2 axles at the drag strip. They hold up!!

What are you WHP goals?

And mjedens, how much power and what type of tires were you running when you snapped the stock axles?

Also, how is the noise and virbration on these units?

Default gq_626

500 rwhp & 550 torque. Snapped coming off the line with 8 psi on MT ET Streets. With the new 1/2 axles, same power, on full slicks, no problem. (Leaving the line @ 6500 rpm's with n2o)

No noise and no vibration noticed on highway driving.

450 - 550rwhp and rwtq daily driving, and the easy ability of 650rwhp and rwtq. I'm not sure what level 3 or 4 hold, if they go by 100's, level 2 = 500, level 3 = 600, level 4 = 700, level 5 = 800, so either level 4 or level 5.

Easy...with the right tools. There are I think 6 bolts that attach each axle to the stub axles that come out of the differential. On the outer hub is a large single nut with a cotter pin. This comes off and the axle slides out to the inside toward the diff.

These are the outer shafts that broke??? Where abouts....in the boot or the shaft itself??

g356gear:
The shaft itself snapped.

Nissan350ZTT:
They only have a Level 2 and Level 5. IMO a 5 is only needed for a full drag car that is 1000 rwhp plus. The 5 is also two times the price and I'm not sure about streetability.

Will a level 2 be sufficient for my goal?

if you are a man then you would go for LV. 5!!! J/k man... it says they are good to 500hp, if you want 500whp thats a differetn story .... thattle be like 550-570 hp so LV2 may not be strong enough

I've got a great suggestion !! Nobody buy anything until you see that you have a problem. There have only been a few of us that have snapped the axles and I believe it's always been on the drag strip.
