Vortech with Kinetic Plenum
Would this be a good idea? I plan on installing my SC next weekend and I know the kit is rich out of the box. Would the addition of the Plenum lean the richness out? Also, does anyone have any MAPs that I can download for the SS box R4 software? Thanks.
Your right, "out of the box" you are going to be "rich"! Probably in the low 10's or maybe even high 9's. I have about 6000 miles on my Vortech SC and Kinetix V4. NO problems. Can't tell you what it might do to your A/F, as I had the plenum before installing the SC. Also, I am at 5000 feet elevation. I had to go into the Vortech SC FMU and change rings due to altitude.
I would assume you are going to find yourself a "tuner" after installing the SC that has a dyno and is VERY familiar with SS R4 program. I am sure someone in your area has maps, but each vehicle is different, so I would suggest you develop your own.

im running the kinetix V4 plenum too, had to remove my strut bar though, when i would accelerate hard the engine would torque really bad and hit the strut therefore rubbing the plenum against the strut, now its just smooth deap purring through gears...oh and dont forget the tires spinning

MCopare,,I recently had AAM install the Vortech and I have the Kinetix V4 plenum.. AAM tuned the car to an almost flat A/F ratio between 11 and 12 with a peak 396 HP and this was after many dyno runs. Any tuner you may be considering should have considerable experience with the R4 software. Downloading some else's software seems risky to me..Norfolk is not to far from Gaithersburg Md..Good luck..
sounds like an idea. I have to check their rates out for tuning. I just wanted to see others maps and tuning dynos to get some sort of idea for tuning purposes. Thanks.
