I have seen some past threads about this, but I think maybe a better torque converter. And if you are wanted to upgrade the internals ever and pushing serious HP you will need a built tranny.

There have been a number of people who drove their F.I. cars for thousands of miles. Not sure if anyone actually made it over 30,000 miles yet with a turbo kit YET
However many of those I just mentioned are about ready to put their cars on the road here shortly with built up bottom ends. I think everyone understands that forged internals go along with F.I. for a reason. It is expensive no doubt...but it is something you might want to consider for a future project after putting your turbo kit on your car.

If your going turbo then forged rods and pistons would give you the reasonable expectation for longevity with your F.I. system. With all the blown motors due to F.I. on our cars....I think true peace of mind will only come from forged internals. Of course a proper tune from an expert is critical because nothing will stop the motor from blowing without this.

Well ya i was planning on buying new forged interals later along the road AFTER i already got a TT kit on my car.
So thats why i said, why do i need those if i wanted to find out what i need for a 5AT Z if i want to APS TT kit and keep the engine stock.

Regarding daily drivability characteristics, I think you will find that all of them drive just like stock, until you step on the gas.
I have driven the PE and Greddy power cars, and they all started, idled, and cruised like normal. TT's on this car are just phenominal. Virtually no change in normal driving characteristics...you sometimes forget the TT's are even there...until you get on the gas.

You are right in that forged internals do not have anything to do with the conversion of your AUTOMATIC 350Z to a TT 350Z. I think we are all excited for you and your project and want you to reep the best results. That is why the suggestion for forged internals creeped into your thread
I have an APS kit myself and the only thing stopping me from install is my wifes dental school expenses (I pulled a miricle to even get the kit with our expenditures). I was trying to plan for install and forged internals at the same time. As time passes I am gaining more confidence in the APS kit. In other words I feel I can enjoy my APS 350Z TT without fearing the worst. If all goes right..I plan on doing my install in August of 2005. Unless I can find some sponsorship! LOL
Of course I am the type of person who likes to cover all the bases so I will build up my engine as soon as I can!Let us know how your project goes!
P.S.- I just realized the thread topic. I'll cease my hijacking of this one this

As long as the engine is tuned thoroughly for the fuel octane you intend utilising on a day to day basis I would rather stay with the stock pistons and comp ratio as the off boost engine response will be far better than an engine with a lower comp ratio, of couse this assumes that you are happy to stay with around 360 to 400 WHP depending on fuel octane your engine is tuned for.

Hope this helps, happy boosting!
Peter
is 30,000 miles driving daily with a TT a lot?
i'd be happy with a Max of 400 wHP!
so if i was to get the APS TT, I would be better off by not modifying the internals of the engine.....
I use the Z for daily commute to work and long trips on the weekends for fun.....I don't race, I just like the fact that its there when i press the gas.......
Does the APS TT come with everything I need?
ie...ECU ....etc....

I really only want about 400rwhp for now. Iam only 16 and can only handle so much for now :P So ya keeping the stock internals, stock boost and proper tune will be just fine for me.
