Default Zeitronix Wideband Software Crashing WinXP

I posted this in the gauge section, but got no responces, figured that most of the FI guys would have one of these units, i got it in on friday, fully installed it by friday night. I have the cd that came in the box and software off of their web site. The cd says Windows 95. My issue is that when i run the software, it will connect to the wideband sensor just fine, it will even start data logging, but when i stop data logging, the computer gets a mean blue screen and the laptop restarts. Does anyone have a fix for this, or a reason for it happening ? Is this only designed to work on win95 ?

I would try the software on another laptop and see if the other laptop works. It might be a configuration on your laptop causing it. I volunteer my sweet Athlon 64 laptop which I will be bringing this weekend.

You're using a USB->Serial converter aren't ya? They are wonky, you might want to try a computer with a real serial port or a usb->serial converter with another chipset.

shouldn't have to, zeitronix says to use the usb/serial adapter. should work fine, must be a configuration on my new laptop not set right, thanks though.
