Default Fuel pressure question

Can't seem to find the answer via "search". My Defi fuel pressure gauge (magnetic sensor), reads abou 56 psi when turned off and about 58 or so when car is running. Under the wimpy boost that I can currently create, fuel pressure goes up to about 60. The entire ragne is about 56-60. Is this normal? It almost seems as if the gauge is stuck in a false range. Why doesn't the gauge zero out? Why doesn't it fluctuate any more than 3-4 psi? What is the usual fuel pressure with a Vortech aux pump system--should it run about 60? What sort of total range is expected with this system?

Thanks.

You need to get to some one that can tune that thing "Dude" . Your fuel preasure should read around 50 psi under vacuum . The Aux. fuel pump [ depending on the settings ] should come on after you get to a set rpm AND OR boost level . Then should raise 8psi for every 1lb of boost

I definitely am getting it tuned. Seems like all the gauge reading weirdnesses are related.

Look and see if your vacuum line going to the SS box is pinched off any where

An update on the question re: fuel pressure gauge reading not going to zero. It normally should take a number of days for the residual pressure in the system to bleed down with the car remaining off. So, if the gauge reading went to zero as soon as the key is turned off, this would be a sign of a fuel system leak.

So that pressure... if I open up the gas cap, is that what I'm releasing, or is this pressure unrelated?

No. Fuel pressure is measured between the fuel pump and the injectors. The tank is isolated from this by an anti backup valve.
