Default gauges now?

I'm planning on going F/I in a few months (anywhere from 3 to 8 months). I want to start prepping the car for the F/I and I wanted start with gauges. I was wondering if it would be worth installing the gauges ahead of time on my own. Or is the cost justified if I just let my installer putting in the F/I, do the gauges as well? I plan on installing Defi's fuel pressure, boost, and egt & Aem's a/f gauge.

I don't know how involved the installation is for mounting all the sensors. What do you guys think? ( I plan on going with Aps's single turbo if it makes any difference)

OMG... I'm thinking about the same thing too!

I'd like to replace the tri-pod cluster with Defi-BF gauges for Boost/EGT/Oil Pressure. I don't want to mount extra gauges on the A-pillar, so I'm wondering if these 3 would be good enough. Gosh, I'd really like to hide the controller.

I'm wondering about fitment with Greddy Evo2. It looks like the single turbo APS won't work with the Greddy Y-pipe. :-(

I have the Defi Bf series Boost, oil press, and egt on my center console. On the left pillar, I will have a AEM wideband installed. The defi gauges was a perfect fit. PM me for great prices from my sponsor. I would recommend buying them now or with your TT kit, but not installing until the kit is installed. You can spread out the overall costs though by buying early.

These amber gauges are turned off in these pics, but come to life as shown in the link at the bottom.

And here is a web pic of my AEM wideband gauge.

you should do this.. it should give you a simple answer...

Ask an installer how much it would be just to install the gauges..
Ask how much it would cost to just install the turbos

Ask how much it would cost to install both together...

Go with the cheapest price.... no use paying for extra labor..
I think the third choice is going to be the cheapest...

I have The DEFI BF (White gauges) replacing my stock ones in this order Boost, EGT, Oil...

Im going to put in the AEM in my A/C vent and another Defi BF in the pass A/C vent... then im going to white out all my stock gagues and lights so they all match using LED's....

The white and red combo from defi is so mesmerizing...

bruschijr, I'm going to do white interior lighting in the near future as well! I just need to find a place (probably BlackcatCustom) who can make me some "blackout" gauge faces with no color tint. All of my indicators will light up blue. I've been soldering lots of tiny LED indicators at work, and they're not bad at all. It's best to use a precision tip soldering tool (Metcal).

I also thought about controlling the gauge lighting from blue->lt. blue->white. As of now... I'm lazy :-P

EDIT: Oops! Almost forgot to ask what the diameter of the Defi-BF gauges are? Thanks!

How hard was it to get the Defi BF series integrated in the center 3pod. I want to replace the oil pressure for a Defi BF, and the volts for a Oil temp or water temp and maybe a fuel pressure. But I want to keep the Computer for MPH, MPG, TPS and all that. Is it possible. Currently I am using the A pillar dual pod. Boost & EGT.

That was my original plan too, to keep the stock mph, trip,... gauge. But the three stock gauges are all connected to one big circuit board. I don't think it would be worth the effort, but I am not saying it would be impossible. You would have to do some rewiring of some sort. Maybe someone on the board has done this and its not as bad as I make it sound.
