Default forced induction/high compression

i was wondering... im thinking about getting my internals forged to a 11.0 ratio... but am not sure if i am going to boost it or not. if i was to boost it, could i run maybe 7 psi safely without detination? or is adding boost at ALL out of the question?

I would say out of the question. You would have to pull a bunch of timing. If you want to go NA then raise compression. If you want to go turbo then lower compression. If you do one or the other and decide to later go the other route, just drop in a new set of pistons.

I wouldn't say out of the question but I would say it's risky on a daily driver. I had asked the compression on that 8 second drag race car and the compression they chose is indeed 11+ to 1. But then that is a drag car, all it needs to do is go down the strip and it is also built bullet proof, then also it is not daily driven. So yeah it is definitely doable, but also much more risky since you have almost NO room for error in the tuning. It must be absolutely perfect. On such a custom setup, it is hard to keep the tuning so perfect at all times with weather changes etc.

The S2000 has 11 to 1 compression... not everybody lowers it when they go FI. I personally would though.

You gotta remember. 8 second drag race car /= 93 octane pump gas. Like I said it is possible with pulling enough timing. I mean the Celica GT-S has like 11.6:1 and guys have successfully boosted them. I just wouldn't waste money putting in higher compression pistsons to run a turbo setup.

Not a good idea...especially on that crappy 91 octane CA fuel. even at stock CR, the engine is very suseptible to pinging with FI on 91 octane.

7psi whit race fuel or methanol injection would make a nice high output engine

*boom* the only word for high compression + boost.

standalone EMS would be the only way I would have trust in that. High octane fuel would be a must for more than a few psi.
