Dont get a BOV for your Vortech . We have a Bypass valve . I made that mistake the other day . I have a Greddy RS type BOV for sale in a week or so . When I get it back

really? I thought they were essentially the same thing. Would it be a huge benefit to recirc back into intake?

Alot of unnessesary pipping IMO . And then you would have to tune it for the extra air going in at idle and under vacuum

Aron's sig says he is using a greddy s bov with his vortech. You might want to ask him how he got it to work.

I believe the ....the Greddy S type BOV has [2] vacuum ports . So it can be used as a BOV or a bypass valve

Does anyone know if there would be any problems moving the Vortech bypass valve from its stock position to after the intercooler, up closer to the MAF? I am planning on getting the Injen intake piping for the Vortech when/if it is ever released and I would like to move it. Not for any performance reason, just for looks.

The Greddy type S, is exactly the same in design as the Vortech BOV, its just a piston style BOV. I have it fitted on my car. I believe the other port is there to make the BOV function correctly, not as an alternative port. Bypass is just a term used on these valves. Bypass seems to be used as a term on supercharger kits.
I think the only problem may arise when trying to use one of the dual chamber style valves (i.e. HKS, Blitz etc).

The Greddy type-S is a direct fit and replacement, the vortech bypass valve and greddy type-s both work the same, no issues at all. Greddy type-s can hold up to 15lb of boost I believe.

why is the RS type any different ? It only has one port and only works as a BOV . It wouldnt open under vacuum , even when adjusted all the way out . Getting confused here .

Why are people replacing their BOV on this kit? Im installing my Vortech tomorrow and with all the posts about replacing the one that comes with the kit Im starting to think I should have bought a aftermarket. From the ones Ive heard in the video's seem like the Vortech one sounds good!

The reason is as booger stated, it whistles like a chevy pickup that is running on the brake squealers. You should not have to put air filters and stuff dense foam in them to quiet it.

Why would you want to intercool air that does not get used. On a warm day you are going to heat soak your intercooler as well as heat the entire system up a lot more. BAD IDEA IMHO. I think you will really regret moving the BOV post fmic. You might consider putting it right out of the blower.

Good point, I didn't even think about the fact that the hot air will be soaking the intercooler.. D'oh. Thx
