OK, I think I am sold. Found a shop to install the kit for $1500. If I add it up $1500 + $7500 = $9000 - $4000 I can roughly get for all the parts that will come off my car = $5000 out of my pocket.....I can live with that. I just sent a pm to Tuan to ask him how much he would charge for a custom map for 450-460ish rwhp.

APS,

Hurry up and get this kit out, before I change my mind!

BTW, I sold the wife on it too......although, she told me what ever money I spend on the car, she gets to spend the same amount on herself

Go for it you good thing, you won't believe the difference in the power and torque delivery (over the cenrrifugal SC until) of the APS TT system until you get it on, I've been out driving the APS Twin Turbo G35 all morning, what a blast, I've just cant get enough of this.

Peter,

How accurate do you think that 6 week time frame to time of release is? Any possibility that it comes out sooner?

I believe 99% accurate, early May and the parts should be available in the US though this depends on the freight method that our dealers utilise.

Thanks

Default 470 WHP at 10.5 psi - what a hoot

Hi Guys, I thought I let you guys know that our head dyno tuner fitted up some test pipes today on the APS TT equipped G35 and gave the engine a slight retune, at approx 10.5 PSI turbo pressure the engine produced 470.2 WHP.

I will post a power graph tomorrow, I'm off for a test drive now.

Yeah a dead stock VQ engine, no after market rods, pistons, bigger camshafts, or cyl head porting, just a dead stock VQ G35 engine on 93 octane fuel.

Peter, what model year G35? Just curious if it's the new bulletproof '05 motor??

I'm joking of course about it being bulletproof, but I am hopeful that the new con rods and bolts will prove to be at least marginally stronger than the previous ones.

Also, are you dumping massive amounts of timing lead? I'm coming up with an ECR of about 13.5:1 which seems bit much for pump gas

I realize you're likely not going to ship the kit set for this kind of boost, I'm just curious about your findings...

Jeff

Can you do us a favor and flogg the sheit out of the car....redline it everytime you take off.....take to the track, etc..... If nothing blows up within the 6 weeks you will release the system, then I will feel pretty safe at that hp level.

I have my credit car ready.....Got some really low install prices from a reputalble shop this weekend. I am ready!

My parade always gets rained on. Read email below from Tuan. If tuning availability is going to be this tuff then APS TT is out of the question for me. I think I am going to be and I have a bad case of blue *****.

Jorge,

It is virtual impossible to correctly tune by mail. You would need to visit a Unichip dealer with a load dyno that is familiar with the VQ motor.

As promised, the dyno graph has been placed on the APS G35 TT web page at http://www.************************/350z/g35/g35.htm

It's the 3rd graph down.

What a hoot!

It's an 03 model G35 coupe that we are testing with the APS TT system.

Well let's hope so, to date APS has not experienced this rod problem (maybe it's only a matter of time before we do ) though sronger rods and bolts would of course be welcomed by APS.

We do have full control of ignition timing (as you suggested) and we also have a very safe timing map strategy (retarded timing at full load and particularly retarded ign timing around peak torque where we see the highest cyl pressures) as well as significant intercooling (with a very low charge air temp), all of this helps of course.

You're right about the effective CR, we are just pushing the power boundaries of the stock VQ engine to see what's possible rather than recommending this boost pressure to forum owners for a daily driven Z car

Thanks

Peter

What you're not telling us is that you've got two auxiliary injectors spraying Foster's into the manifold under full boost... Not only does this provide charge cooling, but the pistons and rods are so intoxicated that they forget to break

Hi Guys,

Just for kicks, we've placed a sound/video clip of the G35 with the APS exhaust with test pipes on the APS web site - http://www.************************/350z/g35/g35.htm and the link is under the 3rd dyno graph (470hp). The exhaust note is awesome when you get stuck into it but quiet when free revving at cruise. On the road, it makes you want to drive with the windows down regardless of how cold it is.

Hope you enjoy.

George

I don't know, I love the way it sounds stock over that. Too much gurgling. That reminds of an annoying ricey civic. Sorry Peter. I'm almost sold on your TT kit though.
