The stock differential is pretty weak. I dont see it necessary breaking..but just overheating, and give you a real problem trying to launch hard off the line. I think an LSD upgrade is next on my list. The ATS carbon LSD looks fricken amazing!

Thanks for the bump. The one person who ordered a Level5 will be shipping this week, and there are 6 sets of Level2's that will ship as well. The rest will ship in about 2 weeks. Turnaround was actually a bit faster than I expected, for a pleasant change.

It looks awesome, but smells like **** with all the friction modified in it.I plan to install it in 4 days, after I get new carrier bearings and races from Nissan. I dont trust myself to remove the stock bearings without damaging them...might as well change them while I am at it.
I want to install the LSD first, to fully test it. If I change the axles and LSD at the same time, I wont be able to isolate an issue, if there is one.
I'll be doing a full review on the installation, and a write up of its performance and behavior characteristics.

And I recall the unit comes at a fixed lockup % (not adjustable)?

I got the 1.5 way, and it can setup as either 1.5 way o 2.0 way from the factory. It is changable, but you have to buy new parts, and its a hassle. 1.5 vs. 2.0 is entirely driver preference, and how you like the car to handle on decel. 2.0 tends to understeer a bit more, and the 1.5 way to prone to oversteer under decel. Under acceleration, they behave the same way.
Todd, the only other parts you need are two carrier bearings for the differential, and a couple of oil seals. Once the parts arrive, I will post up the part numbers, and some pics.
The races come with the bearings, as one unit.

I didn't even know the axle GB buy started and ended. All with my name on the list. It helps if you check the GB section, right? I am ready to order a set, so I'll get on your website and order a set soon. I am very interested in the carbon ATS LSD. I have been waiting for this!! I just wanted someone to install it and find out if there are any driveability issues. Let me know how this turns out.

We were going to install it today, but I need some more reflashing work done to my ECU...so looks like early next week. You'll see a thorough review shortly..promise.

With Level 2 axles, the come with new out CV's, but the inner CV's are resused. Performance Motorsports has tested the inner CV to over 1000whp and it has held up fine.
Honestly, a 6000rpm clutch drop (as you mentioned your foot slipped off), probably has the chance of breaking any axles. Using a normal launch technique, even with high RPM's, these axles should hold up fine to 550whp. The Level 5's are rated at 800+whp.

ah yes..that was it.
a 1.7 60ft time is awesome. With Level2 axles, you will have no trouble launching very aggresively at high RPM's. I was just pointing out that if someone were to accidentally "pop" the clutch or if their foot slipped and it violently engaged the clutch, you can snap a lot of axles at the track.
