something short and sweet i put together tonight, nothing special, but i do have an issue, towards the end of the video you'll hear the engine bay clip. it is very loud, sounds like a belt is too tight ? anyone with the vortech may know about this issue that i might have, or it could be another issue, i do have belt shavings on the underside of my hood. if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it. enjoy the video

Nice vid. Your car looks and sounds great. Any track times with it? Dyno numbers? I didnt know the Vortech BOV sounded that good, that sounds better than most Greddy Type-S clips Ive seen.

dynoed 380 wheel hp, no track times yet, planning on it soon though, sounds better in person, the bov that is. still wondering about the squeeking noise from the engine bay at idle. like a tight belt.

Which BOV is that? Your car sounds/looks insane! Oh man, I'm going to get one of these by the end of they year gauranteed dammit! Can you run a larger intercooler with the vortech system? Do you have any reviews of safety etc etc?
ahha, any info on the rest of your setup would be great. Was it hard to setup the bov with the vortech (is that the stock one :gasp
? Are you running safe/low psi right now? Thanks.
Sorry to sound like Barbara Walters..I just really am that impressed.

thanks for the compliments gq, that is infact the stock bov from the vortech unit, and it's also the stock pulley, along with borla td exhaust, dc headers, and test pipes. glad you like it
awesome! makes me wonder if a s/t is worth paying more for w/out a built block.
when you are driving is the s/c really loud? i dont know if you've ever heard a ford lightning, but if you have, how would you compare the loudness of the vortech on the z to the lightning?

sounds wicked man...i like it. the jet sound rocks. as far as the belt goes...couldn't help you there. i've heard several other SC's that sound similar, have you tried running it at [slightly] less tension? all in all great car man
Your car has a whine like SungNamZ on the site. (me likey) Mine has the same psssht sound but not the whiring sound if that makes sense. had the same squeeling problem you did. I think your cog belt might be too tight. Loosen it a little and see what happenes. You don't want it too tight. I finally ordered another cog belt from Vortech & no more squeele. Awsome video bro....makes me want to take a drive. nice #'s too!
Well I made 360 / 330 wished you guys would post TQ numbers too
Yes your COG belt is too tight .. remember it is only there to ensure the cog belt doesnt go flying off , it doesnt need to be very tight at all .. now the drive pully belts tighten the HELL outta them..just dont crank on the jackshaft too much :O
I threw test pipes on mine and def saw a loss in low end ..so i took them off the next day. They were also sooooooo freaking loud, the NISMO exhaust is ridiculous with test pipes.
I think with headers, test pipes and plentum I should be well up in the 400's maybe throw some cams and a fuel return and call it a day
