Default What turbo?

Hey guys im new to all of this, but i have gotten myself my 350z and its an AT ( i know i know not a MT, but im only 18 and cant afford repairing everytime i broke the clutch or transmission, or any of that jazz) but i was reading that turbos are better for AT than superchargers. Well im new to this as i said. What would be a good Turbo for my car? As in which one would be the best overall in performance, and durability?

Sorry for the newb question.

Putting a turbocharget on a car is a little more complicated then just getting the turbo itself. Just try looking through some posts and you will find all you need to know.

If you can't afford MT clutch/transmission maintenance you should definitely stay away from turbo.

its true, a turbo charged n/a car will not have the reliability of an oem turbo car. simply bc no aftermarket company does the same amount of testing to ensure reliability. any aftermarket turbo kit he puts on there will requre extensive additional maintenance, and could possible destroy his engine. if you need further proof try searching the boards for past experiences. this is not meant to say that adding a turbo may not be worth it in his situation, but you have to pay to play.

blowing your engine and additional maintance are two differnt things. He should have said you can possibly blow your engine if you go turbo....not it will require additional maintance. That sounds like you need to change the oil every 1000 miles or some chit that like.

the additional maintenance would be having to ensure i/c pipes stay tight. worrying about having the proper tuning. additional clutch and tire wear. etc. just a few examples of what he would have to worry about.

Since you have an automatic, you dont have to worry about frying your clutch:^) We have done our fair share of SFR twin-turbo systems on the auto tranny cars and have not blown a motor or tranny yet.All of our auto tranny cars make in excess of 400+ horsepower at the wheels. So it can be done reliably and without alot of extra maintenance.Actually the only maintenenance that you will have to do is oil chamnges on a frequent basis which is something you will have to do regardless of being FI.We are planning a sale on our turbo system. We will be selling the kits for $6995.If you havent seen this kit then you better check it out because it is one of the best on the market.Equal length headers, external wastegates,T3 turbos,Spearco intercooler/s,aluminum induction piping.....need I say more?
