Vortech tuning
I did a search and I can't seem to find what kind of cable I will need to tune with the R4 program. Do I buy a 9 pin male end that goes to the SS box and a 25 pin male that goes to the laptop. Or can it be done with a USB port?
Thanks for the help

You need a USB-to-Serial converter cable and the associated drivers. These devices are notoriously flaky but I found one on eBay that worked.

If I can't find that one, then is there a alternative?

We use a standard serial cable, nine pin male and female ends.

If you have a serial connection on your PC, use it! Those USB-serial converters rarely work. Uses a typicaly 9pin straight through cable.

My laptop doesn't have a 9 pin input. just a 25 pin for a printer and a 15 pin for a screen.

I have used a Belkin serial to USB cable and another brand from Best buy and they both worked fine with the R4 on my Win XP Pro laptop.

Yeah that 25 pin is not serial, its parallel (for a printer). Good luck with the USB-Serial converter.
