Default automatic tranny upgrade for FI

im looking to upgrade the auto tranny to handle a built engine with APS or Greddy TT system ~ 500whp. it seems people have used level 10 for VB & TC, edgeracing, sgp, or protorque for TC as well. SGP has a fully built AT (new clutch packs and vb upgrade), but it costs quite a bit more ($3250). any recommendations?

This set up is only if you are not going to excide 500 horses, if you have plans to exceed 500hp I will recommend the SGP full transition upgrade and

so anything above 500whp, the VB'd tranny may not hold up? has anyone broke their rear axles running 500+?

We fried friction plates on our 400whp at the time car.
And yes, we did have tranny cooler.

I know you're thinking that and do not know it for a fact, because I've spent hours on the phone in the past two months with very respectable people in the industry trying to find upgraded, or for that matter OEM friction plates.

There are NO friction plates available for our tranny for sale to individuals.

Level10 is on my speed dial, Sammy probably sees me in his dreams, I called him so many times. Heck even Raybestos Aftermarket said they only have those frictions in early stages of R&D.

Need more convincing, go to Nissan dealership and try to get a part number on those damn plates. You'll get none, since it is not a serviceable item. New tranny is the ONLY thing that dealership will sell you.

In our case Level10 made custom set of frictions from the core we provided. And they wouldn't do it by itself, only with full tranny build, which comes close to 4k+ core.

If you don't know the facts, don't say anything. You might give others false sense of confidence.

Kyle @ SGP told me that Level10 does their tranny job.
After having gone though Level10 directly, I highly recommend you go through SGP, I haven't used them for anything but it just seems to me that anything is better than Level10 as far as customer service. I'll leave it at that since my ordeal with them is not over yet.

Agreed, would stay away from level 10. Work seems to be good, but customer service is horrible. They will find a way to drive you nuts.
