I am having a communications error between my laptop and my emanage. The support tool comes with a serial cable and my laptop only has USB. I have tried 2 different serial to USB adapters and I still can't get the two to communicate. Does anybody have any suggestions?

 

Mine still won't communicate even on a computer with the serial port. I can upload new firmware, but can't upload or download maps to and from the emanage or log anything, so I have to input on my crap through the e-01 which works. I talked to Sharif on the phone for a while and at least over the phone we couldn't diagnose the problem. I'm just glad my car runs good again.

 

Well, I might have to buy the E-01. Oh well, what's another $350....This gets expensive after awhile!!

 

A serial to USB adapter from Radio Shack should work. It did for me after I loaded the firmware that came with the adapter! I also had a "no communication" error when one of the 3 wires going into the support tool plug that plugs into the e-Manage came loose. Ck it out!!

 

I called Greddy and they said to make sure the adapter and the software is set to Com1. I tried it and it works perfectly. Now, if I can just get the emanage and safeguard to work with each other.

 

Now I can put in my new fuel pump and injectors.

MP..have you tried this? In your case, the support tool was seeing and talking to the eManage...just not wanting to do certain things.

me neither... I went out and bought a usb to usb and its still not working...
WHat could it be??

The communication settings were akward so when his eManage software tried to update the firmware, it crashed ~40% of the way through.

When using a Serial -> USB converter make sure to match the Com port in your device manager and the eManage software.

 

yeah they are... one of them is pushing 405whp. Its insane!!! We beat my roommates brand new Aston Martin Vantage V8 on I-4 LOL
