Question Vortech Owners? Some Intercooler Questions...

Any one knows the core dimension of the Vortech intercooler? And a picture of it installed w/o the bumper? How is it mounted? I want to see what my options are as to intercooler upgrades.

Thanks!

Is that the stock Vortech S/C? Is there any other I/c that can be used that is larger?

Not without modifications. The Vortech IC fits under the OEM bumper

Mark, did you just get the Vortech setup? What are your impressions? Congrats if this is so.

Not yet.

Im getting the tuner kit some time next month, so I am collecting the upgrade parts right now to build my SC system. So far I have the fuel return system, emanage, cold plugs, crank sensor wire etc...sitting in my garage now. I will be slapping on the 2.87 pulley when installing the system, so right now Im shopping for an upgrade to a slightly larger intercooler. I might use the Spearco core for the upgrade. Maybe the one comes with the Turbonetics kit?

Still deciding...

Mark, you should be able to put a wider intercooler in there..no problem. You will need to custom fabricate new piping, but that is about it. I will my Vorech Supplier to provide the physical dimensions of the intercooler for you.

It looks like the turbonetics and vortech intercooler are identical in size. They are both spearco obviously. Looking at the t-netics picture it looks wider though. Not sure if it's an optical illusion.

Did you get the answer yet? If not, I will measure my intercooler.

The Spearco intercooler that comes with the Turbonetics kit is definitely wider than the one that comes with the Vortech. T-netics is 24 x 7.75 x 3.5.

There are quite a few guys claiming 400 to 475whp on the stock Vortech kit with the 3.12 & 2.87 pulleys .

It has been tried with a Procharger SC . He added water/meth injection to try to cool the intake off . It didnt work good enough . SHarif can give more details , as he was the one that did the install and tuning of it .
