Vortech Owners - Filter
Has anyone managed to get the standard K&N filter off the car in situ? Mines been on over a year and is black with belt dust and debris. I had hoped that the CAI would have come to light but it doesnt look likely.
So, anyway, anyone got any tips for removal?
Thanks guys.

you can loosen the clamp and just keep turning it and manipulating it and take it out from underneath, i ended up buying a smaller one that just slides right in there, i cant remember the number but its posted here somewhere. you just have to buy a small filter to cap the crankcase hose.

Order the G35 filter (8H040-035)from Vortech. It will not come with a hole for the breather, so go to PepBoy or Checker and get a small breather filter. I also took a Dremel to the plastic edge of the radiator support to make getting it in easier.. Works GREAT. Just ordered a 2nd filter inorder to have two onhand.

The Crank Case Breather filter is very small. The filter is made of the same material as a K&N or Vortech filter. Probably 1 1/2" to 2" in diameter with a fitting that fits into the hose that goes into the back of the Vortech filter. Some have even put an Oil Catch Can on the hose just before the filter.
They can be cleaned with any of the filter cleaning kits (i.e. K&N or AEM). Just planning on having one always clean and ready to install.
