Default Engine is gone

Another one bites the dust

Ok here goes, tonight, we (myself and some friends) had few runs … and at the end my engine called it quits and blow up … yah I can confirm that the stock block (i.e. rods and pistons) can not handle more than 13psi .. I was running 13.6psi at the time..

I will keep you guys posted… I will take some pictures as soon as I take the engine out.

If anybody have a long block for sell please PM me.

Az

ugh. Well, it wasn't a greddy kit at least. How much whp were you putting out at 13.6psi?

I wouldn't dream of taking it past 8-9psi on stock internals.

I never dynoed the car at that level of boost, but I can tell you it was more than 450hp

From everything I hear it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the APS TT past 12psi, and in some cases 10psi. There's a whole thread on it in this forum.

So it's actually a good thing he's running the UR TT in this case.

True. But at least now that he's blown up his stock motor he can realy crank up the boost on a forged one. (Which I think was the point )

I think he meant the APS thing as a joke, since it's been the answer to just about every (insert kit other than APS) kit's engine failure.

you probably wouldnt have been upset if you had got away with several months of boosting it first tho... everyone knows its a matter of time at higher HP... but if you at least get to have some serious fun with it first its a lot easier to accept im sure.

good luck on the build project!

Why would he buy a whole new TT kit especially now that he has to rebuild? He damaged the motor not the turbos.

Boy this board sure is active this weekend with motor failures. I bet APS will get a bunch of orders tomorrow from those that were thinking about other FI kits.
