Default Stillen SC Stage 2 .. cam'able???

I have stillens stage 2 (ish) charger setup and was wondering what to do next, I could go to stage 3 but also, I am seriously thinking of doing JWT cams (and springs) and an L spec reflash, has anyone else had experience on how this will work with FI, I have heard of lumpy idles with NA .....

Those lumpy idles are common if you only do the cams. You may want to research the lift of the cams. Consider the other neccessary rebuild stuff while you have the engine torn apart. Don't go part way on this. You won't get the gains you expect.

I am going to stage 2 this week. I am just waiting for the intercooler to arrive.

One thing to consider is cooling your engine bay, oil, and maybe a new radiator. You will have more gains than you expect.

Won't replacing your cams with different spec'd cams throw off your Stillen fuel/timing controller? (BOOM?)

As far as I know, stillen does no timing control and their fuel piggyback is addaptive ...

But, that is precisely what I'm trying to find out, I did see that one person had JWT cams with the stillen .... so maybe this is not a problem, I guess I'll have to talk to stillen tomorrow.

I talked with forum member axxizzer a while back. He made 360 rwhp with the nismo cams, Crawford headers/highflow cats and the Stillen stage 3. He said the Stillen FMU handled his setup with no problems.

I too would like to know those answers to the engine build question with my Stillen. I hear they are creating a Stage 4. I would like to know what the Stage 4 includes. When I talked with them about it they denied there was a Stage 4 under testing.

I'm not sure about that, but I don't know one way or the other. I do know that the stillen box taps into both cam sensors and the crank sensor, so I figure it is doing some timing control. It adds fuel according to the boost it senses.

I'm gonna talk to stillen today, and I'll keep you all posted. I really hope there is a way to make more power with this setup, I've been happy with the power but have some money to burn ...

If power wise this is about it, I am seriously gonna sell the SC and go APS TT, so if anyone might be interested could they PM me please ...

I HIGHLY recoment the stage 3. I have riden in both and the torque in the stage 3 was incredible.
I think Znitro had a set of cams in his.

after talking to a couple of people, I'm gonna go with a custom 9lb pulley and the JWT cams, then get technosquare to tweak my ecu to raise the idle and fix any problems with fuelling.

Oooo, I'm all excited now

Default Stillen Stage 4

mzack - Stillen's Stage 4 is supposed to be a setup with test pipes replacing the cats. I recall a few members loosing boost when they replaced their cats w/pipes so perhaps this is Stillen's answer? Good luck in any event!

I am personally REALLY tired of Stillen's attitude toward customers, I bought my charger through my installer and stillen is basically refusing to give me any advice on where to go from here ...

Although, thanks to some members on here, I have a good plan that I intend to follow up on ....

Cams work fine, just don't remove or replace the headers or cats.

Does anyone else know if the Nismo cams have the idling problem that the JWT cams do?? I hate turning on my AC, even if it is only until I get the reflash done ....

Also, my installer is quoting me 13 hours just for the cams and +1-2 before and after for possible S/C removal .... he is on crack or is this pretty fair ??

That's like $1400 of labour, maybe I'll just get new rims instead ....

I have Borla headers on my car with the stage 3 with no problems so I was just wondering why you say not to replace them? Also could you tell me a little bit more details on the setup you were running with the Stillen and what kind of numbers you made with your setup.

PHP Code:

You WILL loose boost with the M-62 eaton blower with free flowing headers and cats...I know! It's a very long story no matter how fast you spin the blower.

I made 368hp and 360tq before I went to the TT setup

On N2o it was 400 x 410 to the wheels

ZNitro, what were you running when you made 360 at the wheels?
